This is by far the best experience I have had with an eye doctor! I moved to this area in July and my initial appointment was to find contact lenses that would address my vision issues. I have used bifocal glasses for the past couple years and was hoping multifocal or monofocal lenses would help. Unfortunately, neither worked for me though I tried many different versions. So we then explored GP lenses which helped with the vision, but didn't fit right (and I lost one of them). I must have contacted the office a dozen times in the past couple months. As I was apologetic for feeling like I was taking too much of his time, he responded "I really want to find something that will work for you". He also mentioned "I like to solve puzzles". I can't honestly say I would say the same thing if I was in his situation. Fortunately, I believe (fingers still crossed) that we found the correct GP lenses and fit after my most recent appointment. His staff are also excellent as both Karli and Ali always followed up with anything that came up and were quick to return my calls and emails. They never made me felt like I was bothering them. Regardless, I will remain with Dr. Lyman and Amador Eye Care Associates as long as I live in the area.

This is a GREAT place for eyecare! I had an urgent vision issue, called and spoke to Karli, she was kind and caring giving me a same day visit. Katelyn assisted the doctor in triaging my symptoms and gathering data, she is very professional and also very kind, what a jewel!! Doctor Lyman is a very kind, informative and passionate about eye care and diagnosis. I learned a lot today and he helped me understand my diagnosis. I will definitely be returning for regular eye care! Thank you!

This place failed my 3 year old son.October 2020I brought my son here to get his slight lazy eye checked out. The doctor told me I needed a referral to see a specialist at UC Davis Opthalmology. He said the waitlist was at least 6 months, up to a year. He told me not to worry if the issues worsened, if his eye went completely sideways in the meantime, don't worry just be patient. This is what the optometrist told me. As much as that statement scared me, I took his word for it.I trusted Amador Eye Care to do their job.May 2021I called Amador Eye Care to see about the referral. They told me to call UC Davis.UC Davis explained to me that immediately after receiving the referral from Amador, they reached out to Amador Eye Care for additional steps needed to complete the referral. They did not.7 months my son waited for care. Just to be told that Amador Eye Care didn't do their part. After calling Amador Eye Care, I was given BS about staff changes and what not.At this point in time May 2021, my son was put on the waitlist to be see at UC Davis. I was contacted the end of July by UC Davis for his appt to be scheduled November 1213 months total, my son waited for care. Here it is, Nov 12. My son will now need surgery to correct this. The issue has worsened. What could've possibly been fixed with an eye patch is now needing surgery.Thank you Amador Eye Care for failing my 3 year old son.If you are a parent, take your children elsewhere. These people are careless and clueless.I am contacting the California State Board of Optometry. This is unacceptable and so unfortunate that my 3 year old son was failed by Dr. Lyman and his office.

I went in for glasses, Dr Lyman is excellent. The staff is very friendl The day I received a text that my glasses were ready, I was in a bad mood, but excited because it took several weeks (covid) on the way there I was already prepared to be disappointed. I went to the office without an appointment and realized that I forgot my contact case to talk them out so I could try om my new glasses. The went out of the way to find me supplies,no problem. Next the glasses... Expecting a wonky prescription, I've worn glasses since I was 7yrs old. This is the first time I put my glasses on and they were perfect in every way. The prescription was perfect, the frames, the fit, everything. It's a shame that glasses and contact cost so much in general everywhere you go, so I'm not going to speak on that....But Dr Lyman and his staff definitely did everything right as far as I'm concerned. I will be back.
