I rented a car while we were visiting California over the Christmas holidays. The car was clean and staff were helpful. One problem.. they couldn't get me the car I booked and I wasn't happy about the car I got.

Initial customer service was great but communication was majorly lacking for drop off charges and the way the payments worked. They tell you one thing and then when you drop off the car it’s another story and the guy was really rude. No attempt to clarify, all I got was “if you want to wait and argue with the guy you were talking to when you came in, you can do that, but I gotta get back to work” way to treat your clients.

I rented from Avis after leaving my personal vehicle at the body shop. I was hit by an idiot who didn't know how to use a back up camera. I rented an HRV from this location. The car was clean and I got it for a decent rate. The employee at the desk was super helpful with answering questions in person and on the phone, and I had a ton because this was my first time dealing with insurance for a rental car. I'd go back - renting a car from here was the least stressful part of my week dealing with my car's repair.

Have rented from this location multiple times, nice cars and attentive folks. There are rental car companies closer to me, but I will drive a little further for a clean, low mileage late model rental handled by polite and professional staff.

Rented a car from this place back in October. The car was hit by another car while it was parked on private property while I was not even in the vehicle. After Avis failed to get a tow truck to pick the vehicle up for 2 days!! I finally decide to drive the car back to the drop off location where I provided them with all of the other driver’s information and insurance to include an email from their insurance company saying they would cover the damages. 8 months later I am getting messages from Sedgwick claims saying Avis never sent that information and that I am responsible to pay for the damages. I have used Avis multiple times for work and I will not be renting from Avis unless they rectify this issue. Absolute garbage customer service! The vehicle literally sat in an empty lot for TWO DAYS because Avis could not get a tow truck out to pick up the vehicle. Renter beware!

We just moved into the area and this Avis is 5 mins away, so I gave it a shot in December 2022. All was well. Easy. Juan was nice, I appreciated our conversation and overall communication. Cut to today, this time my wife needs a car for a quick business trip in SF. We rent cars at least twice a month for business. This time, there was an older Caucasian gentlemen at the front desk. The man acted like we'd just walked into his house and disturbed his afternoon news time, the tiny television was blaring. The man was wildly condescending when going over the contract, acted like my wife was someone that he thinks will trash the car (seriously just driving it to SF and back); he kept reiterating that the inside of the car needs to come back clean. THE AUDACITY. He also felt the need to point out where every "X" needed initials, like she's never rented before. She could barely sign, his finger was in the way! THEN, out comes a little Nissan car, which was fine, but it had over 36,000 miles on it. And this time there was no walk around like I'd had in December.Now here's where it gets dicey. My wife drove through rain and dry weather, mostly freeway, and the car didn't steer straight - the suspension was completely off. She had to hold on tight to the wheel at all times, otherwise the car would go off course. A bump in the road and she was fighting the car to steer straight! My wife is an excellent driver, clean record, always safe, but she feared for her safety today. We've both been making the LA to SF drive with rentals for years now, and she said this is the worst car she's ever driven. We even had a rickety rental in Waikiki last year, and this Nissan rental still reigns as the worst car. When she arrived in SF tonight and found a spot (on a hill of course), THE CAR TOOK OFF BACKWARDS WHILE IN DRIVE, THE GAS IN ACCELERATION! What a nightmare! She called me afterwards in a panic. She's from the Bay Area and none of her vehicles ever did this to her! Ugh, I felt so bad that I couldn't make this situation better for her today.She didn't realize the car was truly unsafe until she was on the freeway for a bit. She thought maybe it was the rain - but nope, it was the car. By then it was too late and she just wanted to get to the Bay Area before dark.Now she has to have a day of anxiety tomorrow as she grips the wheel for dear life all the way home. What a dirty trick you played, Avis, letting my wife pay for a subpar transaction and dangerous vehicle.I just tried Enterprise for 10 days recently, I should've had her rent from there. My mistake. I got an Audi SUV for close to the same daily rate. It was in great shape and Evelyn, my associate, was phenomenal! But my wife thought the smaller Avis operation was more her speed.My wife better come back to me in one piece. If anyone reading this values the life of their spouse and/or loved ones, please find a place with safer vehicles. The rude man at the front desk would've been water under the bridge had the car been safe today.Two things: retire the silver Nissan car, and retire the older man at the front desk who's either racist, sexist, or a little of both - we couldn't decipher.

My local Avis shop. Much more conveniently located than BUR if I need a car for a road trip or long weekend away. I usually rent a car for this purpose to save wear and tear on my own vehicles. Also renting vehicles fromAvis usually gets me newer models with newer features that reduce drivers fatigue like lane-keep assist and radar-cruise. It’s the little things for me. Friendly staff here who are welcoming and earned my repeat business.

Having tried to rent a vehicle from our usual company at LAX, we were exasperated. I decided to try AVIS, located near our hotel in the Valley...and was delighted by the personable and informative conversation/dealings I had with Alex. Our future rentals will be at his office!!!

I rented a car at Avis on 5/6/22 for a day. Haven't rented one in a while. Found out that it's more convenient with Avis. The office open at 8 am.= EarlyYou can make reservation online which is very easy. I got it a Mazda 4 door sedan. Car was clean. Return the following day with no issues. Just filled up the gas tank.
