“I have read a few one-star reviews here that have made me cackle with laughter, mostly from people who don't realize that the cafe in the store is NOT, nor has it EVER BEEN, a Starbucks. The sign is clear. "B&N Cafe, PROUDLY SERVING Starbucks Coffee." The fact is that nobody reads signs, and then they project their anger onto the poor baristas, who have nothing to do with it. If you want Starbucks employees making your drinks, go to an actual Starbucks. This has never been a Starbucks. If you want a nice coffee while in the presence of book people, books, and magazines, go here. I know which place I prefer, and it's here. But if you'd rather not go here, the nearest Starbucks is not far from this store. If you really have a bug up your rear, leave the B&N employees alone and leave. I have seen these baristas get so much abuse from idiot customers that it's disgusting. The baristas here have never failed to give me the right drink. All it takes to smile, be patient, and don't be a jerk.”

“I love Sage. When I moved down south and was looking for a job, Sage was my savior. They took me in, gave me a fulfilling position and relished me with wonderful employee benefits. I tried to take advantage of every one. I was employee of the month once. I applied, got accepted, and successfully completed their publishing college where I learned all aspects of publishing. I also took advantage of a program they had where they would pay for any B.A. degree or a Masters in Education or Business. I went to school at night and got my masters in education as well as teaching credential, all paid for by Sage. They even let me move my work schedule around to accommodate when I needed to do my student teaching during the day so I could still give my 40 hours of work as well as complete my school. All while knowing as soon as I was finished, I would be applying for teaching jobs and leaving Sage. The president always said that he wanted to have people working for him who valued education so that is why he offered such a generous program to his employees. It was sad how few people actually took advantage of this program. I never would have been able to do this on my own and I have Sage to thank for it. I also met some incredibly nice people there with whom I am still in touch many, many years later.”

“We love to visit Cal-Lu whenever we are in town. We love coming back, visiting college friends, seeing the changes to campus and picking up a new alumi t-shirt. Fond memories...”

“Follett Higher Education is the beating heart of Thousand Oaks. An artistic and literary holy site. You can feel the history in your bones when you walk through the door.”
