Worse customer services that I ever experienced at any bank. I paid a safe deposit annual charges by mistake (all prior year the charges were waived due to the high balance I maintained at the Citibank). In 2023 they started sending me a bill due to the change in their policy without informing me of the change. I went to the branch paying the bill and after paying it, I realized that I should not be billed for the annual charge. I went to the branch asking the manager to issue a credit for the payment I made in error. The branch manager indicated that he cannot issue the credit because I initiated the payment and not the bank (worse excuse I ever heard of) I told him one of the banker at his branch previously told me that he can dispute the charge on my behalf. After hearing that, the manager said that he will dispute the charge for me and let me know. From the way he said it I'm pretty sure that he would not do it. The bottom line is I'm being penalized for the changes they made in their policies without informing their customers? Horrible, horrible bank

Beware Investment Advisors at Citi. Last Dec 2021, citi branch setup my mom to get investment advise. Advisor Anna persuade my mom to invest all her svgs into a Franklin municipal bond fund. Less than 1 mos, the fund dropped over $5k, and by 5th mos, it dropped $16k more than 11%. Noted my mom is 81 yrs old, do not speak English, and has NO grammar school, not any investment background. I filed a compliant to Citi investigation team. What it came back was she was in suitable investment because her tolerance level is "moderate", and investment knowledge is "moderate". How on earth does a 81 yrs old widow evaluated as "moderate" risk + experienced investor? Then I find out the decision of "suitable fit" was based on "new acct form" she signed. Anna asked my mom signed an open account form (in English), computer-typed by her, ck box "moderate" investment exp, and moderate risk. So my mom never knew what she signed, but was told in chinese that it was an open account form. I was present, and I did asked "shouldn't we wait until next year because Fed is increasing rate, and wouldn't this bond fund goes down?" Anna replied, she followed this fund over 20yrs, and it is very safe and will go back up eventually if it goes down one year. So far, my mom has lost $16,000 over 11% in this fund within 6 mos. And I later find out citi advisors receives commission from clients and being year-end, advisors must be desperate to meet quotas. Also, Please be aware there is no such thing as "Compliant dept" because there is no person's name who email you nor contact phone no. (Only they can talk justify they're right, but you can never talk to anyone! ) When you call and file a compliant, they take your compliant and after 1-mo reply your email with some ridiculous excuses that your investment is right fit, it is just your bad luck investing on the market. BE AWARE OF THE AGENT, "ANNA L" She service Arcadia, Irvine, SG valley. I had to trace her 3 branches to find her#.

The banker Chris Yeung, NMLS#1622075, who had verbally assaulted and provoked me once I requested a fee wavier since as I explained at the branch that I could not maintain the minimum balance of $1500 while I was traveling to another country during Covi-19 2020 and seeking his understanding and assitance only once .However, Chris Yeung 's advice to me of avoiding the future service fee is that "you just need to get your account closed next time if you travel to another country and it's your own responsibility to alway maintain the balance which irritated me significantly. The person is definitely a racist, who was originally born in the US that deliberately discriminated other individuals who are specially new immigrants to US, mainly from east Asia and verbally abused his authority and professionalism as a personal banker at this specific branch. He even threatened me to let the security guy to kick me out if I could not stop complaining his service a a customer at the branch. I suggest any new-to-bank customer be aware of this guy and try not to visit this special branch that has few bankers some of whom might think they are the king of this branch bank and obtaining the service from Citibank branch at other locations.

I would give this place zero stars if I could. It has the absolute worst customer service on the planet. Part of the problem is that Citibank is such a large multinational bank that one department does not talk to the other department. If you go into the branch, all they can do is to call the same customer service numbers that you could call from home. Of course, the customer service numbers are either busy, refusing to pick up the phone, or not answering calls because they are operating on an east coast schedule. The personnel at the branch can only sit there and half-heartedly apologize. The management is even less responsive.

I have been a Citibank customer for over 40 years and visit this Tustin location because it is convenient for me. The building is always clean and tidy; the staff is friendly and really helpful; and there is plenty of up-close parking. The other thing that I like and respect about Citibank is that the company traces its roots all the way back to 1812. To me, that says alot about strong bank leadership and a secure balance sheet for the safety and security of your funds!

Came in to setup a business account and they said they had appointments setup all day and could not help me. Then I watched the same guy sit as his desk with nothing to do. They would not call other branches to help get me an appointment and several times tried to send me to the website. I was stuck trying to make calls to other banks and finally got with customer service on the phone after a half hour and ended up with a guy in New York who told me to go to the website. Just find another branch these people don't care.

I can see why this branch has bad reviews lol. Went there to cash my check and I was treated like a criminal. Kamel their branch manager has a horrible attitude and she kept cutting me off when I was trying to answer her questions. Never going back there again and I will make sure to close my account.

I can't say enough good things about working with Ming Lo, Home Lending Officer!!! She went above and beyond to help us close on a home purchase under very difficult circumstances...In fact, she helped us close early in an unexpected move situation as we needed to get into our new home so our kids could start school on time. Super impressed with her "make it happen" efforts! Would absolutely use her services again and highly recommend her to others!

Never ever use this bank for a home loan or refi.. they outsource the underwriting and make you feel like they could care less if the loan is even closed. Not thorough at all in the process and aren't looking for solutions. Maybe they are too busy handling loans for rich people to care about the average Joe.

I called the 888 customer service # to order Euros this week. The 888# is routed to a non-USA customer service person. I repeated my request several times that I want the EUROs delivered to the Jamboree Rd., Tustin branch. FedEx alert shows Euros arrived today and we show up based upon the email alert and a call to the branch prior to receiving the alert, to ensure a smooth transaction. Still, the Euros were sent to different branch in Irvine Blvd., Tustin, CA.???? This is unacceptable banking service as it wastes so much time and effort from a consumer/customer with calling and confirming, driving to the location / branch to find out it was shipped to a wrong branch! Citibank must have reachable, well-trained, based in America, customer service reps please!!! It is so important to have a fluent speaking customer service rep when an order is place over the phone! I am thoroughly disappointed and upset.

The reps there are unable to help you with anything complicated. You have to call their phone line in order to get help from there reps over the phone. Unfortunately, this beats the purpose of actually having a physical bank if they simply route you to make a phone call. The service provided was professional but what the reps are able to do and have access to is just not standard when compared to other banks. Also, when you come in and need to speak to a rep they have no one greeting you at the door to help. Which would be acceptable if they at least had a sign-in sheet or some type of instruction on how to get help from a rep. I was skipped over by two other customers because the reps did not know who came in first.

I was told by the bank teller that I couldn't cash a check made out to "cash" because my name wasn't on it. In order for me to cash it, the check would have to be re-written with my name on it. I'll just leave that here....

We both rushed from work and got there 30 min before bank closing time. We went in to open a checking account(simple transaction) and got turned away. Manager said she could not help us and only her banker could open the account and the one banker working was busy assisting another customer. She went on stating banker would not be able to help us today, so she wanted us to schedule an appointment to open the account the next day. Our transaction was simple but the manager did not want to help us meet our financial need and wasted our time. Manager should have taken more ownership and know to NEVER turn away business. I gave them 2 stars because the tellers don't turn me away when I go in, unlike the manager.
