All of the staff were helpful, nice and pleasant during our recent visits to the VCA regarding my cat Zuma. Unfortunately, Zuma didn't make it and we had to put her down because of numerous health battles she was dealing with. Nonetheless, I appreciate all the efforts they made in helping her and us during this difficult time. We received a letter in the mail shortly after she passed from the VCA sending their condolences to us for the loss of Zuma... very sweet and thoughtful of them. ❤️ thank you VCA for all that you do!

I'm very greatful to this place, my pug had his first cold/flu during December and just when I thought he was beating it, we woke up Christmas morning to him vomitting and violently shaking. My usual vet and other emergency vets were closed for Christmas so I was so so happy to find out they were open. Our pug was seen right away and after confirming no blockages and nothing wrong with his cold, we got him anti-nausea meds and he went back to normal the next day. I see a lot of complaints on costs but it was within expected ranges for an emergency vet and my pet insurance covered 90% of it anyways. The xrays and additional exams they did gave me peace of mind in the end. They did give me a good estimate of costs before starting any treatments as well.Depsite that they had to work on a holiday, staff were very friendly and the vet as well, spent a lot of time with us going over his xray films and reassuring us. Ngl we were probably more anxious than our dog ?

I brought my Cat in to VCA OC vet services. When I came in I specifically told them I had gone to a different vet already and they had exclaimed that he had a blockage. I asked VCA to just give me an estimate to remove the blockage and or perform a more intensive surgery. Never did they mention having to pay for a check up. They took him in, gave me prices (let’s be real, ABSURD prices), I told them I had much better prices at other clinics so I would go else were. That’s when they informed me of the $105 fee for the exam. This confused me as I never asked for an exam all I wanted was an estimate on pricing. They told me “well legally we have to do an exam to give you estimates” which yes, makes sense, just shady as ever to not mention the fact. I already am facing a HUGE bill, to be so conniving and not fully inform customers of bills is wrong. I would suggest going to just about ANY Vet but this one. Prices are wild and they truly don’t care what comes out of your pocket and what happens with your pet.

This hospital only cares about overcharging people and manipulating our love for our beloved animals. It allowed my dog to die, simple as that. They then covered their rear by lying on the vet's notes about things they told me about (they didn't). Stay far, FAR away from this place if you want your pet to live

My vet was amazing. She went above and beyond to help me and my pet. They accept care credit and make paying very accessible. However, this is one of the most expensive practices I’ve visited. For exams alone, I spent more than $1,000.00. To keep my pet for 24 hours, their estimate was about $5,000.00-$10,000.00. Unfortunately, this price range was too high for me and I had to take my kitten home.

Unfortunately, I have been here a few times with a cat. The doctors and the staff are great. It is just so expensive! Of course, it is an ER and so depending on how urgent the situation is, you might need to be prepared to wait. I have the utmost trust in the care we receive here. I am so grateful.

This place tried charging me $13,000+ for an emergency c-section for a Rottweiler. After calling other VCAs I was getting a similar price some a little cheaper some a little more! Then I called the Orange County Emergency Pet Clinic (12750 Garden Grove Blvd, Garden Grove, CA 92843). They quoted me $4200 for the C-section and waived the diagnosis fee because we already knew what was wrong. They even gave me money back because they didn't need to use every treatment step that was recommended for the c section! They saved my dogs life, please be nice to these people when you go. I know your pet's situation is stressful so don't waste your time or money going here, go to the place I recommend & please be kind to the wonderful people at OCEPT.Some of the people at this VCA where nice enough to recommend other places & I really do appreciate them but I can't give this place anything over 1 star if they are going to charge $8,000 - $10,000 more than other places to do they same exact procedure. In my eyes it's a form of cruilty because it prays on people and animals in need for money. It's not the fault of the people who work there it is the fault of the person(s) who own this cash grab.

Last week I brought my dog here, the staff was friendly upon arrival but it's definitely way too expensive. We were given a form that we first had to agree on $1,100 based on whatever they needed to do since she was in critical condition (the nurse who provided this form had a smirk on her) Then we were given another estimate that ranged from 8-12k just for running exams on her, then depending on diagnosis we's have to pay for the rest. I took her home because we truly could not afford it, they gave her some fluids due to dehydration and a blood test, we paid $777. We left to another location on Broadway and 19th in Santa ana and we ended up paying $5,000 total! My dog had a rock stuck inside her intestine so it was surgically removed and shes now happily recovering If you can afford $20k then I would recommend this place!

No sense of urgency. Have been waiting 6 hours for an x-ray and blood work after our dog had a seizure. Finally got results from the doctor and staff is nowhere in sight for payment and to bring us our dog. There is no one else here, they suggested we leave our dog if we're in a hurry. I can see around the corner that there's 3 women in the back on their phones including the veterinarian. Complete disregard for our pet and our time/feelings.

They took my dog to the back immediately. No one else there. Said there was no wait. after 4.5 hours of waiting, Vet ran in and apologized and said he just got there and said there was a “communication problem.” Said my dog was just sitting in back the whole time. Didn’t do much and prescribed “doggie advil.” Waited another hour and a half for my dog and meds and nothing. Told them I wanted my dog and to leave. They brought my dog out and said meds would be two more minutes. Nope. Nothing. I finally left. They charged my card for exam I didn’t get snd meds I didn’t get. Other than that it was fine NOT!

The two stars earned are because my cat did receive immediate and good care.We brought her in a few months ago in the middle of the night after a coyote attack and they tended to her immediately, the night staff (admin and medical) communicated well and were very helpful, and they were able to stabilize her.Initially we authorized up to $1,000 for immediate treatment. After she was stabilized and further care was assessed, we were quoted around $4k, which we could not afford so we declined, and by this time we were able to transfer her to her day vet and VCA was able to send over the X-rays and test results, which was hugely helpful. My frustration comes with the check out and administration after the fact. As we were checking out we were charged about $350 more on top of the $1,000. I kept trying to ask the admin about why the $350 if we only authorized up to $1,000. I kept just trying to ask if this is how it worked or what the policy was if we authorized up to $1k and why we were being charged more. The day admin was pretty short and unhelpful and just kept saying she didn't know because she wasn't here when we brought the cat in.The next week I got in touch with their admin (Katherine?) who was so kind and helpful and said they should not have charged us the extra amount over $1,000 and would be refunding me, although I pointed out with the refunds issued I was still owed $10. She apologized and said it would be rectified.Unfortunately, I have been completely ghosted since then (as of this posting it has been almost 2 months of radio silence). I have followed up multiple times in multiple ways about the $10 and no one will acknowledge me or respond to me. Yes, I understand it is "just" $10 but for a business to say they will be refunding you your money as necessary due to their error and then not doing so and completely ignoring you is not a sign of an ethical business, and I continue to be very disappointed by this.8/10/23 UPDATE: I was acknowledged after leaving this review. While I regret it took this review to receive feedback, I really appreciated the quick action, the kind staff and feel they rectified the situation and did right by all of us. Thank you, VCA.

We want to thank the doctors and the staff for taking care of our baby girl Coco when she was so sick. Unfortunately, she crossed over the rainbow bridge but she wasn’t alone. They held onto her and they loved her for us since we were so far away. I will be forever grateful for their love and support. ??
