“Such a delight to see a spot open downtown that sells books from local authors, and gifts that don’t cost your day’s paycheck. I felt super welcomed as a local, and relieved this isn’t yet another bougie home goods store. There are still pricier quality items if you *want* fine jewelry or home-goods, it’s just not the only thing they sell. There are art supplies, tchotchkes, postcards, sculptures, you name it at reasonable prices. Lovely new spot y’all!”

“This PX honestly has just about everything you could possibly need before heading out to the field. If you forgot gear, snacks, hygiene items, socks, batteries, energy drinks, or anything else, chances are they have it. It became a lifesaver more than once. The selection was surprisingly good and way more stocked than I expected. Definitely one of those places every Marine ends up appreciating real quick once field ops start rolling around. Absolutely clutch and easily one of the best PXs I have been to.”

“Have not been there since 2019. When I had to go to the MARINE BACE 29 PALMS to deliver stuff always stopped at Youngs on the way back to the yard most of the time the sandwich was so good it didn't make it to the 10 fwy! A lot of the time I would have to get 2 just to bring back home to the family the sandwiches are that good!!!!”

“I don't recall looking at the date of the review that expressed "the hot water was the same price as the coffee ". The attendants prepare everything that needs to be hot for customers throughout the day and uses electricity. So the store pays for the worker and the electric to supply that convenience.Water that is almost always solely for using another form of hot beverage such as tea, that they offer. Making one's own beverage requiring heated water is the other likely reason. I don't see that its unreasonable to charge as a coffee. Just my thoughts on that.The store is clean and lots of what you need from a station. Paper towels by pumps and large open areas.I've always felt comfortable and have been acknowledged concerning how i was doing no matter the line. motivated attendants and fast service. Its reassuring that there's kind and caring people in the world whom never seem to allow a bad day for them to effect customers .Everyone seems to be upbeat when I have ever been there... thats my opinion of this store, but what prompted my review is my interaction with an employee tonight.I hadnt been in the store for over a year and a cashier said to me tonight how have you been ?I never thought anyone would recognize me let alone remember me ... she stated she rememberedme for my pretty eyes and smile..... even though I hadn't been in the store in over a year and have nohair on my head to speak of right now :) and It felt nice to be remembered, especially when going through times that hearing words about yourself like that are very meaningful... She has atruly kind and self less heart in a world where such qualities and chcharacteristics are so few ....I wanted to sayThank you for that :)she is (angel) and dont even know it. 5 ⭐ from me.”

“Very helpful and friendly help from the gentleman at the Chevron when shopping. As others mentioned it: Pumping gas and credit card use (not being from the US) was no problem at all and worked like a charm.”

Pretty small and busy gas station ⛽
Other than that, pretty chill crew. Only down side, they kind of grumpy at times. And the parking can get crazy at times.

I only recommend this spot if you ever need gas.

“I miss the benches they had outside when I was a kid my dad would bring us up there,For years we used to be able to go up there getting our snacks & polar pops and sit down on the picnic benches they had outside but overall it's a great store and conveniently located of the highway.”

“We stop by for milk most often, other things occasionally. Not my favorite place to be at night if I can help it, but at least we can get what we need and make short work of it!”
