I am literally locked out of my checking account while someone is making unauthorized charges and the only thing the bank associate can tell me is that I need to call the number on the card and she cannot help me at all. Worst customer service at any Bank I've ever seen.

Our banker, HOLLY was FANTASTIC. She helped our 89 year old mother unravel years of financial troubles. She was knowledgeable, kind, and her customer relations are top notch !!!!! Thank you Holly, you're the BEST.

No I would not give a good recommendation. My husband passed away last month and I opened 2 rather sizable accounts from closing a few accounts fromA credit union. I received a business check a few days ago for 176.00 from a university that specialized in a cancer program that was going to coordinate at our local oncology center in our county. It was a refund he had several virtual appointments he paid cash for before our new health insurance kicked in. They would not cash the check since it was made out to him and the teller could not find him in the system. I said he died last month and I brought his death certificate inregarding the money market. I dealt with this teller last week I needed a signature for my husbands retirement paper one manager did this particular signature I was showing her the letter from the retirement plan. I told her I called that retirement plan and the person said I could also send in copies of other identification and I did that. She asked a manager and that person said no it was made out to my husband they could not cash it. I was so angry it was for 176.00 I just opened 2 accounts with thousands last month. Another manager was to explain it to me. She approached me I said I am fine I am closing my accounts I opened last month and I am moving my money to another bank. I made the appointment online when I got home. Ridiculous my accounts could cover 176.00 if they think it could bounce. It was a Wells Fargo check the university hospital is in San Diego. I still want to stay in Calaveras county though their is a Bank ofAmerica in Jackson. We have lived in this town for 30;years and have had the money market account for years. They lost a long time customer for sure!

I opened an account with this bank when I was 16 and I am 30 now and still a very happy customer. They're a small town, home town bank, where everyone knows your face and name and greets you with a warm smile, there are always cookies or coffee, and you just feel relaxed when you enter the branch. As I said, they're pretty small town so if you are international or in areas that don't have a branch it might not be the bank for you. I've lived abroad over 5 years with them and in a city that doesn't have a branch so I use their mobile deposit a lot and also have a credit card and Wise account so any features Umpqua doesn't have I can easily get elsewhere. I stick with Umpqua for the free service and because even after living away for so many years it still feels like home when I come in.

If you move to the eastcoast be sure to switch banks immediately, there are no umpqua banks or atms for umpqua. They will not work with you at all but they will be sure to have plenty of fees to give you even if the nearst ATM is over 2k miles away and there is no other option to get your own money.I do not recomend this bank. Unless.... you don't ever plan on moving from a city with a umpqua bank.
