I COULD HAVE DIED TODAY 6/28/2025 in a U-HAUL rental VAN from VAN-NUYS LA but thanks to God I am writing this and only traumatized but alive. thank GOD!
I reserved a 9' Cargo Van from here whose front driver side wheel 3/5 LUG NUTS where Complete Loose. 2 SCREWS TIGHT WHILE 3 LOOSE. make it make sense. this is WILD!!
from the moment I left this location something felt weird in the steering. IMAGINE, all through the 405 and back for a drop off of stuff I ignored it thinking maybe this van is just old but, on the way, back the rattling got crazier, and the car felt like it was shifting on the driver side. Extremely concerned, I stopped at a gas station about a about 1.5 miles away to take a look. I noticed one of the lugs bolts a little far out/ or not in line (viewed standing up) with the rest and that's when I reached out and TOTAL SHOCK it was loose. then a second then a third. also noticed that it's the only side that didn't have its tire cap on -INSANE- I could have died on the 405.
I call up the location and 2/3 times they answer then after a few seconds just put me on hold. I finally got InTouch with someone from a customer service center. they wanted me to wait for roadside assistance, but I was already late for other things. i decided to tighten the bolds with my fingers which I PROBABLY should NOT have done BUT need to get this van out of my hands and wanted to get to my already late errands plus the shop was just around the corner (YOU SHOULD NOT DO THIS). I get to the shop driving like a snail and show one of the attendants who is also in total shock and mentions (i paraphrase) the mechanical was here. so, it means that van was actually recently in for repairs since it looks like that side was dinged up and this is what I got? NEAR DEATH? we get into the office and there is a fight between an employee and a customer. not sure who did it first, (it should be on camera and I could be wrong) I think the employee spat at the customer in the face during the standoff/heat., the customer punches the employee, the employee then walks to the corner behind his deck and picks up a bag and starts to walk to the customer as if to get something from it and then swings back at the customer. CRAZY. then i get an email with a ''review your trip'' broken review link that doesn't work and some kind of ''snapshot'' for my receipt.
Never drive off in a rental from these companies without checking these things.

I had my reservation booked and it was fast and easy to pick up my van and when I dropped it off, I didn’t even have to go inside to drop it off.

The U-Haul staff was very helpful! I always come to this location when I use U-Haul equipment.

Do NOT use this location unless you want to be harassed.
When pulling into the Uhaul lot, day laborers jumped in front of my car, harassed me & made me feel completely unsafe.
When I went into the store, U-Haul staff said, “Don’t complain to me, I just work here.” Call the GM.
So the U-Haul staff doesn’t care that their customers are getting harassed on their property, nor did they talk to the day laborers or make them move OFF of U-Haul property. They ALLOW them to harass their customers.
When I was telling the U-Haul worker what happened, another customer behind me said the laborors did the same thing to him. Like some sort of insurance scam, where they jump in front of your car, trying to get you to hit them.
U-Haul allows these workers on their property & does nothing when they harass their customers. They don’t even care.
Needless to say, I canceled my contract with U-Haul & went elsewhere.
I did call Jason, the GM of the location, but he never answered so I just left a message.
Avoid this location, especially if you’re a woman. Your needs will be dismissed & they don’t care about your safety on their own property.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Although this location was handling a high volume of customers, the staff remained incredibly helpful, professional, and positive throughout. They even went above and beyond by cleaning the back of the 26’ truck, despite the fact that it wasn’t rented from their site, but from the Saticoy location. Their commitment to customer service really stood out and was greatly appreciated.

When we first rented here. It was quick, easy and excellent customer service. Today we came back because we loved the service so much, and the guy that was “helping” us at the front was not giving that same energy. I dont know if hes the manager or not, but he kept asking for things that werent asked for when we first rented here. He was rude and not precise on what exactlly what was needed for this transaction. We went back home twice to get the proper items he was asking for, but it still wouldnt qualify. Its weird because we came in with the same exact things needed as day 1, and its unfortunate it was not qualifying for todays rental. Around 3pm 3/4/25.

Horrible, m friend and I rented a trailer, and had a hitch installed, the hitch as at a different location and was wonderfully accommodating, the mean lady who works here however, complete opposite. She had to change the reservation/contract to friends name since she is the driver, called me just for payment but I'm on the email and get all the information. U have to verify pics, license, damage, she insisted my friend do that, I further insisted for me to do, only because my friend gets frazzled, thank goodness, she relisted the vehicle as an electric instead of a fast n furious 6 speed hatchback ST, I called back to get it corrected and was met with NO, it already left, no changes, but I wanted to ensure my friends safety towing a trailer across country by herself! Had to call cutmer service after being told what she did wrong, because she's not an adult ho can handle her mistakes, even if not correct them, assure safety, GO to Northridge UHaul!!!

Truck was provided dirty and front end was loose needing tie rod ends replaced and/or shocks. Truck bounced all over the road. AC worked but not very well. Return location was a small market in a strip mall who was clueless as to return process saying only his son could do it and he was not there and would not be all day. Had to leave keys and do return over the phone with a U-Haul rep giving mileage and fuel level. Best thing is truck had plenty of power.

Thank you Melanie! I called this location after calling about 12 or 13 other spots. She was the ONLY person who offered to search for vehicles at other locations, and she found exactly what i was looking for. 10/10 for going the extra mile for me when nobody else would. thanks a bunch!
