I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with the LabCorp facility located at John Muir in Walnut Creek. This has been one of the worst experiences I’ve had with a medical facility. The quality of service has significantly declined, and while I normally avoid this location due to long wait times, I had no choice last week due to the urgency of my situation.
I came in last Tuesday after work for critical lab tests ordered by my out-of-state provider. I recently underwent a kidney transplant, so timely results are essential for my care. I arrived around 6 PM as a walk-in and ended up waiting over two hours. I was the last patient to be seen before they closed. Despite the urgency of the situation and the clear instructions on the lab orders, the staff did not treat it with the seriousness it required.
The front desk technician received and entered the orders into the system but showed no urgency or accountability. When I asked for the results to be faxed to my provider the same day—as clearly instructed—they simply told me that was someone else’s responsibility and not their problem. This kind of response is not only unprofessional but also completely unacceptable, especially in a healthcare setting.
Today is Sunday, and neither I nor my healthcare team has received even a single test result. This raises serious concerns: were the samples processed at all? Were the instructions followed? Or did someone simply drop the ball?
This facility needs immediate attention. LabCorp at Walnut Creek must improve its staffing levels and hire more clinical lab scientists or medical technologists. Additionally, existing staff must be trained to carefully follow provider instructions and enter orders accurately and responsibly.
The stakes are too high to tolerate this level of carelessness. I sincerely hope this feedback is taken seriously.

Dolly is a jerk. The rest of the staff are wonderful, including Gia (or jia?) which is why I evened out the rating, but Dolly's customer service skills leave much to be desired.
Oh, and I can confirm that LabCorp will NOT pickup the phone. It's their policy, due to LabCorp choosing to not hire enough staff. Don't take this out on the staff, they are literally not allowed to answer

I have gone a few times with no issue. On my recent visit I arrived early for my appointment. In the self check in machine I indicated I had not fasted before my appointment. I waited an hour after my appointment time before I was finally received. Then I was told they could not do the lab because I hadn’t fasted. What a waste of my time.
Instructions could be provided with the appointment reminders and they could have turned me away when I checked in and not kept me waiting around.

My doctor sent me to this Labcorp site for 2 blood tests on a Saturday, mid-day. All of the other local Labcorp sites are closed on Saturdays. When I arrived, I was told it would take 35-60 minutes. FINALLY, after 1.5 hours, I was called up, and after looking at my lab order, they told me one of the two tests were not available on Saturdays!!! So I told them let's do the 1 test they could that day. It was another 20 minutes until they called me back for the test, and then another 6-7 minutes until the tech finally came in and drew my blood. 2 HOURS FOR A SIMPLE BLOOD DRAW!!!
STAY AWAY FROM THIS LABCORP SITE. THEY ARE RUDE, GIVE YOU WRONG INFORMATION, AND ARE GENERALLY IMCOMPITENT!

My adult son had a scheduled appointment and was called to the window. After he was called back for his lab draw, I looked at his receipt and noticed they were drawing the wrong lab. I alerted the front desk and asked them to stop the phlebotomist until we could confirm the correct test. Per my son, the receptionist went to the back and alerted the phlebotomist, and she disregarded what was said to her and drew his labs anyway. In healthcare, a person who does not stop a procedure when asked to is a huge liability. She did not have a clue as to why she was asked to stop. She did not care. Please confirm the lab test to be performed before heading back. Lesson learned

My mother had an appointment at 12:30 on a Sunday and did not get waited on for over 1 hour. I watched many people leave in frustration. A blood draw should be in and out when one has an appointment.

We went for pediatric collection. Rude, no compassion phlebotomists. Called us parents dramatic and asked one to step outside. Parents ALWAYS advocate for their child. They should not be in healthcare if they do not have any compassion towards patients. Not only are they rude, but incompetent. After what our kid went through that traumatic draw, they have the audacity to call us the following day for a recollection. Poor communication too, they left a voicemail but did not explain what tests needs redraw. They did not leave a number for us to clarify their ambiguous voicemail. Labcorp should look into this.

Avoid this place!! The phlebotomist hit my nerve while drawing blood, causing significant pain and discomfort. Despite expressing my pain, the phlebotomist ignored my concerns and continued drawing blood. She even falsely assured me that I would feel okay in a few minutes. However, four days later, my left arm and wrist still experience intense pain from the incident.

I've been here a few times for blood work but after my recent experience, never again. My arm bruised from the shoddy blood draw, and plus it was quite a painful experience. I've never had any issues with getting my blood drawn anywhere, including this LabCorp, until my last visit. I had scheduled an appt and got seen very quickly. As i followed the woman who would be drawing my blood into the room, I had a mental note that she seemed unfriendlier than most. But whatever, this wasn't a social call. However, a few other things should have red flagged me. 1. She didn't ask which arm I wanted blood drawn from. 2. When you get your blood drawn, there is a special chair with that the side armrest so you can rest your arm. Rather than allow me to rest my arm to the side on that armrest, she pulled it across my chest which was an uncomfortable position, especially given my shoulder issues. It seemed she wanted my arm there before it was more convenient for HER. Like she couldn't just reposition her body a little to allow my arm to rest in its proper position. 3. She tied that tourniquet around my arm, inserted the needle, and started drawing blood. She never took that rubber band off -- I later realized this was a problem! She drew the first vial of blood ok. But the 2nd vial was taking forever, much longer than I remember it ever taking. And the needle in my vein was starting to get increasingly painful to the point when I actually eventually cried out in pain. Only at that point did she remove the tourniquet and withdraw the needle. She said, "Sorry. That's going to bruise." That's when I realized she should have removed that earlier to allow the blood to flow better. Since not enough blood has been drawn, she had to take it from my other arm. This time, she removed the tourniquet as soon as blood started flowing and there were no issues. When I got home, I told my husband about the experience and he said this is the same lab where he had HIS bad experience, also because they failed to remove the tourniquet. In his case, it resulted in a falsely elevated potassium level and he had to go back and have his blood redrawn. I've had my blood drawn plenty of times and have never thought much of it. You shouldn't need to think much of it. If it's done right and assuming you don't have any special issues (which I don't), it should be a straightforward procedure. Such was not the case here, and my arm now has a bruise. This place is very convenient for me but I'll happily take an extra 20-30 minutes to go elsewhere in the future.
