“My daughter and I were walking down second Street in Belmont Shores and stumbled across this amazing candy shop! It was my daughter's birthday, it was meant to be "my 9 year old daughter said" when I say candy shop, that's an understatement! From the awesome decor, the life size candy and the huge assortment of candy is amazing! To top it off the have a creation station you can make your own candy pizza, candy sushi and candy slime! I believe we met the owners- if they weren't the owners, they were great with explaining how everything worked, also directing us to Candy we were specifically looking for, like I stated it was my daughters ninth birthday, who I believe to be the owners, gave her a free lip gloss that was in the shape of a cupcake! My daughter was very happy! We can't wait to go back if you're looking for a place to host a party or stop in for some yummy treats this is your place!”

“Upon entry to the store, Brian gave us each a sample. It was delicious! He helped us enthusiastically with our custom orders and suggested new items. It was actually my birthday! All I wanted for my birthday was Sees Candy and a cupcake. He was able to suggest Sprinkles and even looked up the hours so we could make it before closing. He went above and beyond, and we were thrilled to be in the Sees store in Costa Mesa. Any business owner would be blessed to have Brian as their employee!”

“I've tried a few things from other J.sweets. However this is the first time I tried a mochi cream, specifically from this location. This place has a lot of different sweets. They have them all set out so you know how they look. So I'd say organized, and you're aware of what you'll be getting with whatever treat you get. The sweets look so beautifully presented, and from my experiences from other location, the quality has never disappointed. I went to get mochi creams twice at this location. The first time I tried the strawberry shortcake, double mango, green tea and black sesame. My top favorite flavors are strawberry shortcake and double mango. Strawberry shortcake had a whip cream blended with cake pieces, and between that a strawberry puree inside a pink mochi. It was light, and full of flavor. it tasted like I as eating a strawberry shortcake. The double mango didn't used an artifical flavored mango. The cream was mango flavored, with a mango puree inside the cream. I didn't like the green tea and black sesame. Both had mung been inside. Green tea was covered in matcha powder and had green tea flavored mung bean and cream. I'm not a fan of mung bean. The black sesame was the same, it had a black sesame mung bean flavor with cream. I wouldn't get these. I didn't pay attention to the service the first time, but I did the second time. The ladies working are very sweet and attentive. They smiled the whole time, and I appreciate a smile when it comes to customer service. I got the banana chocolate and peach yogurt. Both also had mung bean, but the chocolate flavored made the mung bean in he mochi bearable. I believe the mung bean was banana flavor, and the cream was chocolate cream. There were also chocolate chips. Then the mochi was rolled in cocoa. The peach tasted like medicine. The peach flavoring was not good. Overall I'd say get the strawberry and mango which apparently, were both top sellers there. The banana chocolate is descent as well. So I'd go back for these three for sure!”

“Finding a story with candies for a party is hard to come by now and days! Especially Mexican candies in bulk so the moment I walked into this place I was amazed at the mass variety of candies. They have so many options it was so nostalgic. They also have party supplies such as plates, napkins and utensils. You also have many ice cream options that seemed to be in bulk as well but I didn't really double check. Customer service was great as well. Will definitely be returning for future parties!”

“There is a veterinarian hospital there. We use them all the time. Then there is a small Italian restaurant, same corner, I am dying to try. It's very welcoming, clean and attentive with individual people. I figure if the food is authentic, the prices are about right. Can't wait to try them out.”

“I like this little boardwalk shop. I was able to pick up my gingerbread cookie here and as the price for them varied around the parks I felt like I got a good value here. They hand it to you wrapped in cellophane so you are good to go carrying it around with you . The cookie is huge and could easily be shared. They also carry Pixar film character merch.”

“We'd heard good things about a concoction at Candy Palace called the Churro Toffee, and since I love churros and I love toffee, it seemed like a total no-brainer.And indeed, it's amazing. The delectable toffee is covered in the seasoning you'd find on a churro and the two work together beautifully. It's so good, in fact, that a few days later I grabbed one to take home with me.While I was in there on that last day, I also bought a bag of their chocolate and peanut covered toffee. I didn't think they could top the Churro Toffee, but holy smokes did they ever. It's honestly one of the best candy-type confections I've ever eaten. The perfect toffee, the delicious chocolate, and the slightly salty peanuts all complement each other brilliantly. I could eat these things every day for the rest of my life.”

“Sweet Box is a small but mighty little macaron (not to be confused with macaroon, two different things) takeout shop, located in the Source mall on the 1st floor. The Source is a heavily Korean-forward food and goods shopping center and Sweet Box does reflect that. I've only been gifted their macarons and can say they were good but wouldn't have much to compare them to seeing as I don't have macarons often (actually these might've been the only macarons I've had in the past few years). I will be honest I don't even like macarons in the first place. I had the little character macarons and they were your standard macaron with the addition of being in the shape of cute animals with little faces.As previous reviewers have mentioned, the shop is purely takeout and does not have seating. It's just a storefront containing the display of desserts and the cash register. But genuinely I don't see them needing seating anyways with what they sell. There is seating around the mall however if you're looking for it. Recently though I noticed they started selling Tanghulu, candied fruit on a stick hailing from China, and I can only assume it's been a hit because one could not walk more than 5 minutes around the mall without spotting passerby sporting a tanghulu stick. Curious about this new food edition to the mall, I walk up to said person asking where they might have acquired the candied fruit I had not seen there before. "Sweet Box!". Me having not tried it before I thought this would be the time. So after another 3 visits to the mall, I finally decided to stop by and make my own actual purchase here to try one. And let me tell you when I had my first bite my mind was blown. Where had this been all my life? Well to be fair I the entire time I was just ignoring all the tanghulu hype and even lazy to make my own seeing as it's not readily sold and hard to find in public. It's 5 dollars a stick and while I have my qualms about the pricing, I got the tangerine. It's crunchy, sweet with a delectable juiciness from the fruit. It's sold right out of the fridge so along with that, it's a nice cold and refreshing treat! Once you break the outer shell of sugar in your mouth, it is like a juicy burst of flavor in your mouth. Since the first time I had it, I've gone back to have it another 2 times since I've been at the source. all 3 times I had tangerine but plan to try the green grape next time per recommendation from the cashier. I could go into how I feel about the price but I've already had it 3 times and given them $15 of my wallet so who's really the one laughing. So while I can't say much about their macarons or even their dragons beard candy that they have, I do now have a newfound fondness for candied fruit and they might as well be my hookup. I will be back next time not just for another tanghulu but also possibly one of those very generously filled macarons that have piqued my interest. Sorry for no photos, I ate them all before I could've snapped a pic.”
