DoubleTree by Hilton Whittier Los Angeles is a business hotel conveniently located for visiting the area, within walking distance to much of uptown Whittier. It is considered one of the nicer hotels locally. Guests are welcomed with warm cookies at check-in. The lobby is nice and inviting, featuring a bar area and a piano. Staff are generally friendly, helpful, professional, and nice, with good customer service that includes local recommendations. The rooms are spacious and comfortable for a business stay, with a great shower and comfortable beds and pillows. The bathroom seems recently updated and includes refillable toiletries. Amenities include a decent and inviting pool, a nice gym, a coffee pod maker, and a bar/lounge area. Hilton status is recognized. However, some aspects receive criticism. Sound proofing in rooms is minimal. Housekeeping may not clean unless asked, and some furnishings like carpets could use an update. Some guests found the mattress uncomfortable and the linens and towels scratchy. Parking is free, but outdoor spaces are very compact, leading many to use the parking garage. A high incidental charge is noted. Breakfast is not included and is considered overpriced; even lobby coffee incurs a charge. The hotel provides the basics expected, but some feel it lacks investment in updates and supervision.
The hotel is centralized and has plenty to see of the area.

Good hotel but aging a bit. We’ve been staying here for almost 40 years. Under at least 3 different names. Started as a Hilton, Radisson, and now Double Tree (Hilton). Maybe another name I don’t remember. Has been remodeled at least twice. This is the best it’s been in years.
