“I’ve been banking with this Bank of America branch on Mulholland in Woodland Hills for well over 20 years, and overall it’s always been a place I’ve trusted. In fact, it was the very first bank I ever opened an account with.
Today I came in regarding a check transaction, and I want to specifically recognize Steven, the teller who assisted me. Steven showed excellent customer service. he was professional, patient, and genuinely helpful while trying to resolve the situation. He clearly explained the policy and handled the interaction calmly and respectfully. Because of how professionally he handled things, I simply deposited the check instead of cashing it and moved on without making it an issue. Steven did a great job and deserves recognition for the way he treated a long-time customer. He is the ONLY reason for my 5 star review..
That said, I was disappointed with the manager’s involvement; or lack thereof .. during the interaction. Even though my request couldn’t be completed the way I originally hoped, it would have been a simple courtesy for the manager to briefly step out from the back area behind the teller line and personally explain the situation. Instead, Steven was left to handle everything on his own while the manager remained tucked away behind the side cubby area. I was actually the only customer in the branch at the time, so it wasn’t a matter of the branch being busy. I think the most awkward part was that I could even hear the manager mumbling to Steven. Very inhuman response from a manager.
Having banked here for more than two decades, I remember when Laura was the manager, and the branch always felt extremely well-run and attentive to customers. That level of engagement is something I’ve always appreciated here.
To be clear, I still like this branch and Bank of America overall ; it’s been my bank for over 20 years. I was just surprised by the lack of direct customer engagement from the manager during this particular visit. Clients are the reason banks exist, and a quick acknowledgment or explanation from management goes a long way, especially for long-time customers.
Five stars for Steven’s professionalism and excellent service! he handled the situation exactly the way a great teller should.”
