“The Guild is the best small venue theater outside San Francisco. Tiny venue, good drinks, nice facilities, two bars, helpful staff. Only downside is they need more non- cover bands to come through.”
“This is an excellent museum, but some exhibits are better than others. The overall goal is to explore the history and culture of the county, and this they do quite well, especially in the exhibits downstairs. The object theater in the exhibit on housing in the county is especially fun and clear. Divided into three sections- great estates, pre-war housing, and the post-war boom, the lighting, videos and narration really brings the history to life.
A far less successful exhibit is the one on innovators on the second floor. This is a pixelated exhibition in the unfortunate new museum fashion. By that I mean that it’s a heap of objects with minimal to no narrative structure. If you’re looking for a history of Silicon Valley, go to the Los Altos Museum. The exhibit here will mostly be interesting to relatives of those whose innovations were chosen.
Overall, though, the museum is absolutely worth a visit. It successfully connected with the history of the building, bringing in the stories of the courthouse and law enforcement.
The exhibit on native Americans was quite good. It didn’t shy away from the violence of the mission system.
The exhibit on roads and means of communication was also excellent.
Anyone interested in the history of the peninsula would do well to stop by. The gift shop is great too.”
“The employees in banqueting are amazing. Shout out to Jose, you know which one i mean. I worked a wedding and this staff was efficient and supportive. They worked well and were very friendly. The food was amazing. The venue is so special. Beautiful areas and architecture. I really can't say enough about the staff and beauty of this place. The gelato service didn't come. The venue broth out vanilla ice cream and mango sorbet without missing a beat. Guests never knew there was an issue. True professionals.”
“My experience at Auto Vino yesterday was absolutely incredible. It was our first time and Inge was there to greet us and made us feel SO welcomed. She also had a plethora of treats, water and lots of lovin' for my dog Maggie!
We did a wine tasting and ordered pizza and the wood fired wings, all of which was insanely delicious! I will definitely be trying the salmon salad as I saw a few people order it and it looked incredible!
My mom has been telling me about this place for awhile and I can't believe it took me so long to come here, I will be a repeat customer for SURE! The chef even gave us leftover dough as they were closing for the day and I cannot wait to recreate something at home!
I didn't catch the names of the other staff members who were there yesterday but every single person was SO kind and went above and beyond for us. I kept hearing about the famous Daisey and I'm so excited to go back when she's there!
I just adore the sense of community at Auto Vino so thank you to everyone for such a lovely Sunday Funday!”

“Fantastic park in the neighborhood. This park has everything you could ask for - dense trees, some historic buildings, children's playground, strength training equipments, tennis courts, big fields. The best part is this park has many smaller parts and tracks around them, that gives you plenty of options to choose from. Highly recommend”
“Great space to meet friends and make new ones. I love Friday Happy Hour with live music (4:30-7:00) and lunch in the wine garden on the weekends (11:00- 4:00). Various car shows make an extra special experience!”

“We hosted out-of-town guests for our son‘s wedding at the Stanford Park Hotel. They were so impressed by the beautiful facility and incredibly helpful and friendly staff.”
“This was my first time at the Elks Club in San Mateo. I attended an afternoon luncheon with about 50 family members in their banquet room which was bright and cozy, and a very nice place for a party, wedding reception, etc. There is ample parking in the parking lot and on the street. The food served was delicious and the service was top notched.”
“This place is great! The staff are super friendly, and the wines are incredible. The tastings always showcase something unique and I always learn something new. One staff member (Kyle) even sent me a list of resources for wine education, which I’ve since found invaluable. Whether you are looking for a specific wine or just want to expand your palette and do some tasting, I can’t recommend this place enough.”
“Our wedding would not have been the wonderful, perfect, and flawless event it was without Joe. We loved the facilities OVY offered and they were very well maintained. From the bathrooms, to the trails, Redwood ceremony site, lawn for Yoga, to the main hall, everything was in great condition. Joe was very attentive and always seemed to be in the right place at the right time. He had a wonderful attitude to work with; his even keel nature helped on a big stressful day like our wedding. We are deeply appreciative to Joe and OVY space for cultivating and curating our perfect wedding day.
We look forward to suggesting OVY to others as a great place to gather in any capacity. Maybe even doing anniversary reunions as many people have requested.”

“I have to say that I came in with high expectations that were not met, but overall the experience was still very good. I was under the impression that the faculty club would have a bit more of a luxurious vibe to it and feature interesting cuisines, but the reality is more of a log cabin vibe with standard fare. It's a nice space sure, but it doesn't live up to the hype. My burger was solid & so was my lemonade, but I wouldn't make it a point to come back. Amazing service though!”
“One of my Favorite Unique spots to DJ at in the Peninsula. So much to see and such an amazing ambience. The team that works there is amazing too. Very interactive and help make the experience even better. A Must See Place for your next company or private event.

“Alpine Hills Tennis & Swimming is an exceptional club that exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the professionalism and warmth of the staff. The service attitude here is outstanding—every staff member I encountered was friendly, attentive, and eager to assist. They truly go above and beyond to ensure members and guests have a positive experience.
The food at the club is equally remarkable. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meals served here. Every dish I tried was not only delicious but also thoughtfully prepared and well-presented. The portions are generous, making it great value for the price. Whether you’re enjoying a post-tennis lunch or a casual family dinner, the menu offers something for everyone, with a focus on fresh ingredients and bold flavors.
The overall ambiance of the club is relaxed yet refined, creating the perfect setting for both leisure and sports. Whether you’re here for tennis, swimming, or simply to enjoy the excellent dining, Alpine Hills provides a top-notch experience. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a welcoming and well-managed facility that excels in both service and quality.”
“My wife and I were married at the San Mateo Arboretum in June of 2019, it just occurred to me I should post a review! We were very happy with the venue, we had the wedding out in the garden with about 52 people. We used the Pump House to stage things, and had the buffet tables outside. We were able to bring in a catering truck with a pizza oven, and the caterer provided the servers to stage the food and serve the drinks. Our contact helped us with the logistics and was there for the event, when there was an issue with another event in the park blocking the access she quickly worked it out with them and got the path cleared. There are some limitations to work with: no real kitchen for cooking, no dishwashing, and the interior would be cramped for 45 people, so hope for clear weather and bring a mobile caterer. Don't expect to play really loud music or have a big dance party on the grass. But for a small low-key wedding the garden is fantastic, and makes a wonderful backdrop. The price is very affordable, and we were able to book it with 4 months notice, so it was a very good option for us... Highly recommended if it fits your needs!”
“Everything was great! The ladies were attentive and knowledgeable. The instructor took her time to give pointers in the step by step instruction. We had a great time and will definately go back again!”
“MCC has done a good job with outside seating with lots of heaters and tents that provide overhead cover as well. New chef and new food menu is better than before”

“This is one of the greatest community centers in Palo Alto. Everybody is so nice and friendly. Can't wait to go back to pre-Covid19 days where everyday and every week there is an event planned out by this community center. Good old days. Please get the Adas Cafe in the community center more active. We all miss the options of walking out of library or the community center and grab a cold or hot drink with a dessert or a small bite. Thank for your work Mitchell Park Community Center.”

“Nice garden to visit and enjoy. We went during a weekend event where a variety of clubs and vendors were there. A lot of different plants available to view, enjoy, and purchase for cheap. If you like to garden and are in the area when they are open, definitely stop by!”
“Nice theater with full reclining seats and warmers too. They serve alcohol in the concession stands that isn't as expensive as their candy and popcorn. Clean facilities”
“OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! They have lots of activities planned there every week...come out sundays mornings to watch sports. Joe is the bartender on Sunday's and he's a blast!

“This military veterans bar is open to the public. Below average drink prices here. Big hall and and kitchen available to have your next event. Great management and bartender. Friday night karaoke from 8 pm-1 am.”
“I am giving five stars for this place. Excellent place for group activity. Great customer service. Wonderful instructions were given so that any one can follow it and bring the artist out of you. Food was provided on time. Yummy! Great location. A huge parking lot allowed all of us to park nearby. Well planned for the evening.”
“We had a private function there and the staff was super helpful. The venue itself is a beautiful old building. Stage and various seating arrangement are available. We kept it very simple but you can make it super fancy too.”
“Great food and great service i have been getting my lunch and my coffee from them for over 3 years now and i would say that they do it right. Love the Roast Beef and the coffee is the best around.”
“had a good stay - plenty of food options around the vicinity but take note that they mostly close at 9pm and there is no in room dining services. only bumper was that I had 'do not disturb' sign at the door and the laundry folks still went into the room to place my laundry inside. thankfully there was no stolen items (not that I had any valuables in the room) but still.... On another note, I did like that the hotel offered 2 complimentary huge water bottles per day...”

“Is a great place with nice details in the room if you are close to Stanford alone, with the family and you want to have a Night of Rest or if you want A daring night with your partner.”
“Impressing manor with large and beautiful gardens. So many well furnished rooms! Many kitchens with different rooms for cooking different products! And a safe for the silver cutlery ? Such a big domain needing at least 10 bedrooms for staff! Nice places indoor and outdoors to be rented for events. We had online tickets including parking for one car.”
