“We've always enjoyed the one at Oxbo, purchased several items. Then went to their shop across town and was able to find a couple of books we had been looking for.”

“Cute bookstore with a variety of merchandise. Perfect for browsing on a crisp winter night. We picked up a board game to take back to the hotel, variety of games was great and prices were reasonable.”

“An authentic old time bookstore, locally owned and host great events. The owner was married in the store and you can feel it.

I drove a solid hour to attend an author’s event here, and it was fantastic. Made me realize how important it is to have local bookstores in my life!

Great food around the corner on the Sonoma town square. Get on their mailing list — also Book Passage of you’re in this region.”

“I'm incredibly glad that Barnes & Noble opened one here in Napa. I love this cuz it's near my location. The staff are amazing, very helpful. Place is neat, organized and very lit. I thought it was a tiny store, but they've got more sections towards the back. Thanks for opening one here!”

“The Presidio of Sonoma was once very briefly the Capital of the California Republic. No, not the State of California. This was before California was part of the United States. California is one of four states that were independent sovereign nations before joining the United States and you get a bonus point if you can name all four. Answer below. The Sonoma Barracks aka the Presidio of Sonoma is free to visit and includes a number of rooms with captions and memorabilia that detail the history of the Bear Flag Republic of California, their independence from Mexico and eventually, their joining the Union. The breakaway state lasted from June 14 to July 9 1846, was never recognized by the United States, never formed a government or passed any laws and while Sonoma was the "Capital", it was never official. There are some docents who can answer questions, an organized tour is available and they have a small gift shop. (The answer to the question of which four states were independent. 1. California which you already know now. 2. The Long Star State, aka Texas, obviously. 3. Hawaii, of course. 4. And the one most people don't know? It's Vermont who were not one of the original Thirteen Colonies. Independent from 1777 to 1791 though never recognized by any other nations.) “We went walked in right after their power went out. The staff kindly informed us that it was out but assured us it would be back shortly. They were super welcoming and the energy inside seemed light as with the customers. Staff were very nice. On their cafe side I ordered the matcha & passionfruit tonic, it was not very sweet. It was refreshing with a little bit of a bitter aftertaste taste.”
