All thanks to Janea in the Pharmacy @ the Brighton Location (not sure of correct spelling - sorry if this is the wrong spelling). * Long post warning * Me and the Mrs. use this Walgreens for our prescription needs, since it is the closest to our location. We have never had any complaints or issues with this location, they have always been very friendly, and helpful with any prescription questions that we have had. Unfortunately, my wife came down with Covid 19 from over the weekend, and our Doc put in a prescription for Paxlovid (the common cure for Covid now days). Well, to my surprise, I go to pick up the prescription and the price is over $300.00, with insurance (no longer the government issue, commercial issue now). It wasn't that I didnt have the money to pay for it, I want my wife to get better. I would pay $1k if I had to, just so my wife could get rid of this crud. But it was the sticker shock of what the cost was before, compared to now. Janea "The pharmacist" must have seen the look on my face, and proceeded to tell me about a program that I could apply for, that could bring the cost of the medicine down in price and possibly save me a couple hundred dollars. She gave me the paper to call, which I texted to my wife, within a matter of few minutes she was approved, gave her a card to show to the pharmacist, which she emailed to me, and I kid you not, the bill for the Paxlovid came down from over $300.00 down to $0.00 out of pocket! Most employee's would not go out of their way to help their customers save money in this day in age. However, I do have to say that "Janea" (again, sorry if the spelling is wrong), deserves a big pat on her back, for her customer service, friendliness, and willing to step out of the box and go the extra mile and offer assistance, in a situation like this. Walgreens, you have a very valuable employee here, an asset to Walgreens. Make sure you treat her well, because she most defiantly looks out for her customers, and their needs. Plus with that attitude and willingness to help, she will go far! ! She was also nice enough to tell me, that she hoped that my wife started feeling better soon. :-) THANK YOU AGAIN JANEA! ! ! ! YOU ROCK ! ! ! ! !”

No matter what she's doing she'll stop to ask if there are questions or just to see how my day is going. Every pharmacy I have ever visited makes me feel like I'm a nuisance and an inconvenience, except Christina. Your team is lucky to have her energy and positivity here and so is Brighton!”
“From the time I entered the store I was greeted immediately, which made me feel welcomed right away. I was asked if I needed any type of assistance, the assistance I needed I received not from just one employee but all employees that were in the front of the store and all members in the Pharmacy. I got all the employees names and Mark was the Pharmacist, Vanessa and Jackie were the other employees in the pharmacy then there was Kathy upfront and also another Employee/ Boss they call Corn. All of these employees are amazing individuals. Look forward to seeing them all again.”
Loblaw Companies Limited is putting serious money into its retail network this year. Canada's largest food and pharmacy retailer announced it will spend $2.4 billion in 2026 to open new stores, renovate existing locations and strengthen its supply chain. The company plans to open 70 new stores in 2026. That includes 34 Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix pharmacies and care clinics, along with 31 hard-discount No Frills and Maxi grocery stores. On top of the new openings, Loblaw will renovate another 191 stores and continue construction on a roughly 1.2 million-square-foot automated distribution center in Caledon, Ontario.
