The customer service is bad. They act like you're a criminal when you walk in. I've spent a lot of money at this store, but I won't be going to ace anywhere ever again.
Seeing all these comments is funny, we are all saying the same thing. I'm never going back.

This particular location is terrible, if you have any other options I wouldn't waste my time here.

The customer service here has fallen off a cliff.
For almost 3 years, I used to shop here 2 to 3 times per week. I used to send all my staff to this location for hardware and supplies. After the treatment I received from their staff, I’ll happily take our business elsewhere.
It says a-lot about their store culture that the last thing you see upon exiting is their “wall of shame”. What a great neighborhood vibe.

I was just going to let this experience go, and just stop patronizing the Ace Hardware at the Bon Shopping Center, from yesterday's experience, but woke up today still fuming about the encounter with the rude female employee.
I stopped by the Ace Hardware at the Bon Shopping center yesterday, in order to purchase door hardware and a door sweep. As I entered the store I was immediately confronted by an elderly, white haired female employee, who wanted to know what I wanted as soon as I entered the store. I informed her that I'm looking for hardware. She wanted to know what kind of hardware. I told her what I was here to purchase (please, keep in mind that she was rather rude to me through this entire exchange).
Moreover, she was addressing me as if I was a criminal about the commit larceny in the store.
I said, "Thank you," turned around and left the store; vowing to myself never to return to Ace Hardware in the future (after patronizing this store for 15 years), and drove immediately to Home Depot to purchase what I needed.
Please note that treating honest customers like thieves is by no means a way to conduct business. The Ace Hardware store at the Bon Shopping Center has an employee parked immediately inside the door, to confront every customer entering. At first you think they're a greeter - but no: they're there to chase off as many customers as possible; thinking every customer has evil intent. That's bad store policy, and highly paranoid behavior. I've encountered this in the past few years at Ace Hardware in the Bon Shopping Center, but yesterday was a watershed experience for me. I, a man in his sixties, doesn't need to endure the rudeness of store employees at Ace, when I can just drive a little further, and get my hardware at Home Depot with friendliness and appreciation from store employees.

I don’t see me shopping there again. Every time I go into this store I am treated rudely by the elderly checkout guy and/or treated rudely by the elderly woman that works there.
I guess I’ll check out Lowe’s. Kinda sad, my family always shopped at Ace. But I can’t tolerate abuse when I’m the customer.
I’d love to hear of these two retiring soon, maybe I’ll come back.

It used to be the friendly local hardware store to go to. I really stopped shopping there 6 months ago. I live nearby and have been going there for 25 years. The elderly lady was so aggressive and rude. I told her the parts and bolts that I was looking for and she showed something totally different and said it would work. She did the same to another gentleman beside me. I told the cashier I have been coming there for 25 years and had never been treated like that. The lady came over and said she had never seen me before and she has been at the store longer than that. I gave the cashier my rewards card, told her to keep it. And I left. The other gentleman did the same. I live nearby And have been getting everything for our 100 yearold house there. I’ll take my money elsewhere. I don’t like the big box stores but when the local business’s that you have supported for years treat you like that. No excuse for keeping employees like that. That’s uncaring business owners. You loose my business.

Incredibly convenient location, friendly people, decent selection.
Prices are a bit outrageous but that's the compromise for not going to Lowes or Home Depot.
Biggest complaint is the new cashier, he is incredibly slow and if you have 2-3 people in front of you, you're better off driving to any other Ace location. You will be done shopping, and be checked out in the same time it would have taken if you stayed and waited for him to get to you.

Literally waiting in line trying to buy the tool I need and instead of the cashiers helping the people waiting in line the 5 to 6 of us they are helping one individual look through a magazine instead of checking people out on top of that just to get the tool, I had to have them come unlock it even though it’s only a $21 tool After all that then I was waiting in line to check out and no one helped me so I just decided to leave the tool in the checkout and walk out because they are unwilling to help anybody and are only willing to help one person and nobody else. Well all the other staff just stand there talking to each other, not helping any of the customers. This is exactly why this store will fail after all the boomers are gone and you’re with millennials only if you do not have a self check out, you will cease to exist as a company. Good luck.

Refused to return a 7$ item because I bought it at a different location in Colorado Springs. Said they’re all separate that makes no sense to me!!
