After being a regular and loyal customer since this store was built, (literally) after enjoying joking with the cashiers and others every time I came in, I was treated like crap this morning by the manager, as if he had never dealt with me. I seriously will have to consider whether to ever return. Bon Ace has always been friendly, and it is only a minute farther away. Basic common courtesy was lacking. The cashiers and most of the floor people have been good through the years, and I am always courteous and try to always thank them and have fun, so this felt like being kicked by a friend. After trying to hose down a rental machine in a freezing rain) and slipping on the ice) I returned, and he was superficially apologetic. The machine did not function well, and had not been cleaned before I took it home. I did not ask for a refund, because I am aware that stuff happens, and I just did my work. But he did not ask about that. Just told me he was going to charge me more.

I go here pretty frequently because I'm a newish home owner and have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to home repair.The staff is *extremely* helpful and kind when I'm looking for things or asking for advice. And thus far, none of their help has steered me wrong.

I called ahead to see if they could replace a pane of glass in my window. They said 'yes,' then when I arrived they said they never replace glass. Really? Get it together, people! What a waste of time.

Didn't even bother transferring me to hardware to find the parts I'm looking for. The store on Stetson Hills and Powers at least looked for me and actually had the parts I needed. This store just said we don't have them, and didn't really try to help me over the phone at all. Won't be going to this store. They don't care at all.

I have been to this store multiple times a year since it opened... I have never had a negative experience and they saved me on so many projects where other stores couldn't - mostly because I can rely on getting personalized attention and service when I am looking for something random I need for house projects. I find myself lost or wandering around forever trying to find help or the right aisle in bigger stores like Home Depot or Lowes. I'm always in-and-out at Ace and I can depend on them for that. The variety of items they carry is amazing and helped me with sooo many last minute gifts. The employees seem happy working there and take extra care in protecting their store, customers and fellow employees. I've lived in the neighborhood my whole life and some really bad apples have taken down this area's quality a TON. Good families and people are still living here and are doing our best to navigate through these issues that have arrived and we DO understand why this ACE and Safeway need to have so many new precautions. Stores from here to the mall are doing their best to limit theft and drug issues at their stores - the ACE parking lot and store is about one of the cleanest, safest, neighborhood stores that still exist and that is one of the reasons I go there. I know all the signs and precautions are a little obnoxious (I miss being able to use the restroom at Safeway when I'm shopping... ACE will escort you to their locked bathrooms - but it's a smaller store and it's easier to find help when you need to go...) But even with all of their precautions, they still lose so much product every day - just like all the neighborhood stores. It really isn't a "bad" neighborhood - just lots of recent bad apples who cause issues... I appreciate ACE, Safeway, Walgreens and the Citadel Mall being so close to home and with the cost of living being so high - I have no where else to go. Be patient with this area of town... the drug problem has sky rocketed since the pandemic - and stores are doing their best to stay operating with the rise in store theft in the area. Support this store and be respectful with all the new precautions (bag size limits, overly attentive employees/door greeters, signs, locks on things that can easily walk away...) it's SAFE, still convenient, fast, has GREAT prices on most things and generally employs knowledgeable friendly employees that will go above and beyond to help you if they can. Thank you, ACE! Hang in there - we appreciate you being here.

I came here this morning to pick up a few things, and I was greeted by an employee named Allen. This guy has no business telling me to take off my mask in the most rude way, I immediately decided not to ever come here again. This place is trashy, everything is super marked up on price, the employees are not knowledgeable about anything home improvement. Allen is a horrible employee and not be anywhere near customers. Unfortunately I have to give this place a star but it doesn't even deserve that, I will be going to Home Depot from now on. DO NOT SHOP HERE IT'S TRASH!!!!

The staff are very up in your face and you don't enjoy your experience bc they r profiling u the whole time and follow you bc they assume the worst of you and make u feel digested I will never ever ever I mean ever go in that establishment again I was looking for a torque wrench socket and unfortunately they d9n carry them. So if u want harassment come to this ace hardware for your session in self control

The lady at the door was extremely rude said I was not allowed in the store because my purse was too big to her standards! My purse was a typical medium hobo bag with no room to fit even a pen! I felt disrespected and embarrassed being treated like a criminal!

went in to get a key copied and allan helped me right away, thank you for your guy’s amazing customer service, you all do the most and are absolutely wonderful, the plexiglass that was cut for me was also wonderfully done, thanks again!!

Well, I'm not usually one to leave reviews but I went to this location today as I was looking a particular type of stain that was listed on the minwax website. I went with my boyfriend who is Pilipino and I am Hispanic but white passing with lots of tattoos. We were greeted at the door by a woman who told me I had to leave my small backpack in the car or behind the counter because they have had a lot of theft lately. Fine, no big deal. I find the items I want and go to the paint counter to have the bases tinted and wait for 10mins with another woman who looks like she's been waiting a while she finds someone to help her and the lady who helped her took 15min just to make a paint sample. The woman who helped her proceeded to walk away even though I was still waiting at the counter, I waited another 15min and she never came back. I saw her sweeping by the front door instead. I was on my lunch break for work and got tired of waiting so my boyfriend and I returned the paint cans, went to the front desk and got my bag and left. As I was driving away I was flagged down by who I can only assume from these reviews is Keith the manager and he accused me of not paying for the paint. I explained to him that we put the paint back because we were waiting for a long time with no help yet he still questioned me and asked me to come back inside and he would "help us get the paint". He's lucky I even stopped the car when he waived me down, most people would have just drove away. Anyway, good luck running a business like that. I won't be back.
