I would leave 0 stars if I could. This place is an actual joke.Come, sit down with me for story time.A few years ago, my father came here to have a stereo installed in his car. He had several issues with hissing through the speakers and a unstable wired android auto connection and wireless didn't work at all. He tried to get it fixed through them multiple times but they did nothing other than warranty replacing the head unit 2 times. Dad gives up, and deals with it.Recently he passed away; I have the car now so it's my turn to try to get it fixed. Every time I called to make an appointment, they told me to just come in and they'll ook.I do so and they look, realize it needs a lot more than a quick parking lot inspection, but they also want to warranty REPLACE the head unit again. We order a head unit, and the clerk tells me to call back in about 4-5 days to see if the head unit came in, and to make an appointment.I called at 4 days, nothing. 5 days, nothing, but they tell me my head unit is now an older model and it's being shipped from out of state and they have no idea when it could show up, somehow. I call back at 2 weeks, nothing. I give up, frustrated and annoyed.I try to just deal with it; I made it maybe a month. I only returned to this store on the off chance some of the parts were still warrantied. I talk to the manager, tell him about what's happening. He tells me that in the last month the ENTIRE staff was replaced, and that he himself was an emergency stand in manager.I told him about my last visit re: replacing the head unit. He goes and pulls up my and my dad's work orders and tells me my head unit is too old, and it would be a warranty REPAIR, not replacement, wherein they would have to take my head unit and send it back to the manufacturer to be checked and repaired.This can take up to, hold on now, 6-8 MONTHS, possibly longer! Half a year+ with no head unit. If I'm not okay with that, then tough, buy a new one.I am so desperate for this stereo to JUST WORK, I still push to have it looked at hoping the problem is somewhere else in the system. So the manager and I go to my car to do aNoTHeR parking lot inspection. He again says it's going to need more time and I need to make an appointment, but now also tells me that one of the issues with my stereo is likely a dying amp.Nevermind these issues have been present since day 1, multiple years ago. And to no one's shock, the amp is not under warranty and I would nEeD A NeW oNe. I asked if they would help me out a little with a discount or something for all the inconvenience, the manger shot me down before I was even done asking.Fine. A new amp or head unit are future problems, let's just get an inspection done. I make an appointment for a few days later, specifically for when the manager says he will be there to make sure this is done right. The day comes, I go in, they don't have my appointment on the books, AND the manager isn't there.We are really done now.I took it to another car auto installer and told them the above story, to which they where extremely sympathetic. They go out and looked at it in the parking lot and immediately could tell the install was done improperly, and asked to make an appointment for the next day. Like an actual, responsible business my appointment was confirmed and they were ready for me.Less than an hour later they call me with an update. Starting with "I am so sorry, they completely scammed your father, it was like they wanted to maximize cost and minimize effectiveness. I've never seen a system installed like this."Turns out my amp and head unit are perfectly healthy. Instead, it's because they have the amp improperly wired into several unneeded aux controllers limiting its power, as well as an incorrectly installed stereo din, leaving it untuned, amongst a host of smaller things. All costing EXTRA to have installed originally, and now even more to have it fixed.You should just light your money on fire instead of coming here, truly.

Tried to come here two days in a row and they were closed early both times. The time says 8pm but I tried to come on a Tuesday at 6pm and the next day at 6:30pm both times the open sign is off and their door gate is up. Guess they don't want business. Clearly you can see in the picture sign is off, lights on, gate is up.

I’m not going to go into it. It’s not worth my time. But this location’s manager, Bill, is the reason I’ll be taking thousands of dollars in business elsewhere. I’m sorry that asking him to do his job is the biggest inconvenience of his day. Time to retire from working with people. And p.s. all your coworkers hate you. All of them. Which is too bad because they’re all nice, and helpful, and seem to understand what customer service should look like. Big in the car scene here in CO…we rarely go to places like CarToys anyway, but this location is being added to all the “no-go” data bases.I’ve previously had them do various stereo components, and whole vehicle tint. The work was always quality, but there are too many other good options in town for me to have to put up with treated like a “little lady” by someone who makes everyone around him miserable. I got $5 that says this review goes without comment from the business, too.

Very professional and quick. Also I had a switch in the car that I thought went to nothing they figured it out and informed me how to use it with my audio system. Another time my door broke to where I couldn't open it. They informed me how to fix and even offered help in the situation. Both times I was there for something completely different. Thanks for the great customer service guy's.

I had to get my Intoxalock recalibrated. I just showed up. Walked in wonderful customer service, and it only took five minutes. Great experience.!

We have always gone to Car Toys for with our cars when we were looking to add or upgrade our audio. Jordan at the store on Academy in Colorado Springs has always been very helpful and a pleasure to work with.

It doesn't matter who you deal with because they all have the knowledge to get done whatever you would like. They all treat people with respect and professionalism. I have been to many car audio shops and this one is THE BEST one I have done business with. I have collaborated with this shop over the years to create one of the nicest sudio systems in the entire state!I wished these guys did more than what they do just so I could conduct business with people like the ones here.

I went to Car Toys to have the radio replaced in my 2012 Honda CR-V. I knew that I wanted to update it to an Apple Carplay type of radio and the guys at Car Toys walked me through what their recommendation was, pricing out the work and didn’t try to upsell me on anything. It took me a while before I finally moved forward with the radio and not once did they bother or pressure me about having the work done. I finally got the radio replaced this past Friday and it was such an easy process and I’m so happy. The guys are incredibly nice and knowledgeable and not pushy. They recommended a warranty but said it was ultimately my decision and I went with it because I wasn’t oversold. I highly recommend Car Toys and specifically the location on Academy.
