Conoco is a quick stop gas station providing fuel, snacks, and drinks. Unassumingly located in the back of this convenience store is a fantastic barbecue shop, giving off authentic country store and hole-in-the-wall vibes. The food is excellent, fast, hot, and fresh, never disappointing. Many consider it hands down the best barbecue in Colorado Springs. The menu features tender and flavorful meats like ribs, brisket, and pulled pork, which are delicious even without sauce. The burnt onion barbecue sauce is unsuspectingly amazing. They make their own sauces, with options like Sweet & Tangy, and the jalapeƱo poppers are to die for. Sides include very good potato salad, baked beans, BBQ beans, green beans with bacon, and crunchy coleslaw. The platters offer plenty of food. The staff are super nice and friendly. The business has both indoor and excellent outdoor seating, with occasional live music. They also serve margaritas and a few other cocktails. It is a fairly priced joint with an authentic feeling and fantastic food.
