They need more shopping carts. We have to wait and play cart tag with people leaving. Nothing quite like almost stalking someone to their car just to get the cart.

What’s the point of having security if they’re not going to do anything about the homeless people constantly stealing and making the other customers scared for their safety?

I went in today to purchase a Party Bucket of Tenders from the Deli department. This includes 2lbs of tenders (Original or Nashville Hot) and 1lb of Jojo potato wedges for $14.99. When we made our request the employee behind the counter told my husband and I, if we wanted Nashville Hot in the Party Bucket she could only give us 1lb of tenders. However, if we got the original tenders she could give us 2lbs at the $14.99 price. When we asked why, she stated “her manager told her to price it that way”. When we asked how much was the cost of both tenders per pound, we were told it’s $7.99 each, meaning the same price for original and Nashville Hot. When we asked why would we only get 1lb instead of 2lb in the Party Bucket, if the cost is the same per pound, she responded because the weight of the Nashville Hot is more and her manager told her to price it this way.We explained if the cost was the same per pound and there was no sign stating an additional cost for the Nashville, it didn’t make sense. They should still be providing 2lbs of tenders, and if the Nashville weighed more, we would be getting less tenders than the original but that didn’t justify only giving us 1lb. She told us it was cheaper to purchase the tenders and wedges individually if we wanted the Nashville Hot. Again we stated how can that be if 2lbs of tenders would be $15.98 and the wedges would be $3.99 a pound; again the Party Bucket is $14.99.She just kept repeating herself that her manager told her to do this and I kept asking to speak with her manager as the pricing wasn’t making sense, especially if they are still charging and advertising both tenders at $7.99 lb. She told me she would weigh the tenders and wedges separately and show me the price was the same. Obviously she realized when she did weigh them (as the scale doesn’t lie) what our gripe was. She did end up giving us the Party Bucket with 2lbs. of Nashville Hot tenders and 1lb of potato wedges for $14.99 but she would bring this up to her manager to discuss but further.I previously worked for Pavilions, which is a sister company of Safeway. I understand how things are priced and how grocery stores work. I am appalled that a manager wouldn’t instruct their employee to price food at their own discretion. With food prices already so high, the nerve to impose these ridiculous and inexcusable prices is baffling. Safeway is a corporation, not a franchise and prices are not dictated by a department manager. I have filed a formal complaint with Safeway’s corporate office and beyond this review I will also be posting to Safeway’s socials. I expect a call from the store manger explaining this situation further and will update this post.

Christmas Day. Making pie. Out of shortening! I've got 1.5 hours before the Safeway closest to me closes. Yay! Open Christmas! They're out of shortening. Go to the next closest. I've still got half an hour before 3pm by time I get there, but they're not letting anyone in! There was a line of people, like me that had driven across town trying to get that one thing. I hurry over to the store on Murray and they are cheerfully letting people in. And they have shortening! Pie saved! Thank y'all for the Merry Christmas!

No cartsOne only cashier and I waited the longest because the 2 customers before me could not pay… or whatever the problem was.I was offered to use the disabled cart….One cashier shouted at me at the top of her lungs when I asked if I was allowed to use her line: I put my 5 items and she left! The manager was kind and helped me but i waited too long and standing for me is difficult;the problem of this store persists which is a pity since they sell items I likeI put 5 stars for the items available not for the service

The Blonde Female Evening Manger at this store is one of the nastiest persons I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. How someone who treats people with such disrespect and contempt is in any sort of leadership position is beyond me.My phone froze while I was checking out, so I couldn’t access my apple wallet. I tried re-starting my phone and still couldn’t get it to work. My husband went out to check in the car for cash, while I was stuck at checkout. During that time they locked the doors as it was closing time, so when my husband tried to get back in the door was locked. He attempted to inform the girl that he was trying to get back in to help me check out, that he had the money I needed to be able to checkout. She told him “Well she’ll just have to figure it out for herself “ at this point she came over to me. In a tone I could only describe as contempt, she came over to me and asked me what the problem was. I explained my phone was frozen and I had no cash on me, I was not aware the my husband had the money in his hand

I always look things up on the app first so I don't waste my time. I can't be out long. But every time I go to the store to pickup what the app says is there. It's never there...so many times now...and not the same item...several items.

I went to their deli I bought a ham and cheese sandwich and they did not have any mustard packs.I asked the lady politely and all she said was no she didn't have any mustard. She didn't say we're out of stock or getting more in didn't offer any alternative other than mayonnaise.Have you ever heard of a deli not stocking mustard packages for your "to go" sandwiches?I certainly haven't.I will not be coming here again for my lunch sandwich and I suggest you find somewhere else also.

My friend and I were followed around by several employees as soon as we walked in, they kept trying to talk to us, it made us so uncomfortable we left within 15 minutes. We were exiting and asked to show our pockets by an old employee. I told her to get lost and she started to bother a young lady minding her business. Maybe catch people actually stealing instead of harassing minorities. This is SICKENING! I will never be returning. This location disgust me!!

I normally do Kings Soopers but location nearest me is closed. So stopped at Safeway on way to mountains here in Colorado Springs. Realized I had the wrong things. Went to return today to this location nearest me, and one of the two gals at customer service was digging around in an apparent lunch box (zip up cooler). I waited and she directed me down to the other register as she was still "working".She told me sharply, well this receipt isn't "our store" you need to take your return to the Safeway store you purchased at.Wow, what a dumb, accommodating, poor customer service. Was thinking of switching to Safeway after a good experience yesterday. Now, no way and I remember why I seldom shop at Safeway. I am used to reasonable accommodations (let alone better prices)So do I want to drive 16 miles round trip to make a simple return, or toss things in the garbage...Shame on you Safeway. And for goodness sakes if you're that hungry, take a break and go chow down.Thumbs down?*Received a prompt reply to the above welcoming to join Safeway online and club. Just how would that have rectified the customer service and the policy you must make a return to the store you bought an item. I guess the reply is an opportunity to promote Safeway but after my last experience, I am not inclined to join. I likely won't shop any more. How many chain stores require you return an item to the location it was purchased is beyond me, but between the hungry representative and the mandate to drive across town to return something, and the welcome to -- I still give you a thumbs down ?Wouldn't give you one star if I could have entered zero.

I went to shop and soon as I walked in security was following me about the store which at the time I didn’t know he was I thought he was a random man following me around the store and while I was still shopping I picked up some body hygiene and hair products and I wasn’t sure what I wanted to eat cause lately I have been having poor appetite so I don’t really have appetite for anything so I was walking around to figure out what I wanted to eat so I stopped at an isle to figure out what I wanted and then as I am a forgetful person I opened my backpack to see if I left my wallet so then I picked out an item I wanted and I put down the product I already had in my hand down to pick out some food I wanted then another man which at the time I didn’t know was a security guard said I was looking at him weird which I was because I thought he was a random dude talking to me then he stopped where I put the products down at and then told me that I had to leave the store because I put some of the products down in the wrong isle then he accused me of stealing because I opened my bag but when I refused to leave he said he was going to call the cspd on me because I refused to leave then I offer to let them look in my bag but they declined then another security guard walked up and said she saw me stealing and putting something in my bag and I said I didn’t and again offered to let them check my bag and then I said instead of assuming that I stole something you could have asked if I was taking anything. Then they persisted me to leave and I said no and they guy kept saying he was a security guard and I had to leave and I continue to say no cause I didn’t steal anything then he says he was going to call the cops which i insisted them to do so. While they did that I bought what I came in for and left. I felt like that was really disrespectful and discriminatory.
