This Safeway is a serious problem. It's in a big neighborhood, so they get business, but they are patently rude to customers. It all starts with Gabe the manger who is condescending and downright disrespectful. I've had terrible personal experiences with the staff before, but tonight I heard and employee, Mo, who was horribly rude to a customer who expressed issues with her digital coupons. Now, anyone who has used Safeway's digital coupons knows they're hit or miss, but the dismissive manner in which Mo spoke to this customer was downright appalling. She then called for the manager (Gabe) to come to front desk with more disdain than any employee should express for a customer. As a witness, the customer was genuinely asking why she didn't receive a discount for certain items. Sadly, when I've been in the same boat, Gabe was rude and dismissive. I get it, they deal with a relatively upscale clientele and rich people can be snotty sometimes, but they're i. The business of customer service and they believe the customer is always wrong. Safeway corporate needs to change out this manager Gabe and get some respect I got that store. Unless you need something really badly and can't drive the extra 3 minutes to King Sooper, don't ever frequent this store. Worst grocery experience I've ever had!

I was doing a favor for my older roommate and had to drive her van down that way. we'll get can has a blown head gasket so I ended up running out of gas. i didn't have any money so she transferred money through western union (the only one in the area) because the hours online said until 8. I walked in there at 6:50 pm and the acting manager stated they closed at 7 for western union. so here I was stranded. they wouldn't help me at all. horrible place!

I've only been to this Safeway twice and at first I thought it was way better than the one on Nevada St, but now not so sure... This location is bigger and in a strip mall with a lot of other stores which is nice, but I realized after my most recent shopping trip today that they are selling extremely expired food!!! I guess it's my fault for not noticing but TWO of my items expired 2/09. Today is 2/12. Pretty gross...and none of these items were discounted or anything. I just assumed that Safeway wouldn't sell expired products, but they do so be sure to check the dates. Just hoping I don't get sick.

What I asked for Vs what I got. I cried literal tears it was so wrong. I actually gave them a picture of what I wanted and they still got it wrong. I just wanted a little half cake for my babie's 6 months. They said they can't make a half cake....

I came here with my family from out of town. We rented an Airbnb so we were trying to shop to fill up our fridge and pantry. Well when we got there -there were no carts available. So I sent my son to search outside while I waited inside for returns. Then an old lady comes in and the guy working there gives the next cart to her, I was actually first but I just let it happen. Then a lady working there brings in a cart and she's telling me I can't have the cart cause she's saving it for if someone else needs it. Smh these people really had me waiting at the door for a cart to go big grocery shopping. So unorganized, so unprofessional, should be first come first served.

They don't enforce masks. Today while checking out I noticed two individuals in front of me with out masks. I inquired with the employees standing a few feet away who were unaware that the governor had extended the mask mandate and said they were not enforcing the mask policy. I find this unbelievable. I have been in multiple stores and witnessed individuals being ask to leave if they did not have a mask on. It's for the protection of your other, perhaps more intelligent, customers as well as your own employees. Shame on you Safeway, I expect more!

Rude mask nazis. Was visiting from out of town and forgot mask in hotel room. Was directed to morning manager (obese male) to request complimentary mask for customer, something that pretty much all establishments are offering these days. This guy was rude and told me that he did not have masks for customers, and that I would have to buy one of the ones they had there for $10! He was rude and dismissive, and a perfect example of how to lose customers during this silly "pandemic." A 10 cent mask and a little bit of understanding would have gonna a long way buddy. Will not shop here again.

This review is really for the customer service in Safeway. I was cashing in a lottery ticket that was a winner and the lady there said that you had to be 21 to play. Saying that the law was passed last week. I went to a 7-11 and asked the clerk about this new law and he said that the lady just didn't want to give you cash from their cash register.

I'm a devoted Safeway shopper, but after numerous visits to the S. Academy Blvd. Safeway, I cannot award it anything other than a single star. The shelves are poorly stocked & more than a few of the cashiers are unhappy, if not downright moodly & unfriendly. I contrast their moodiness with the friendly, cheerful & polite dispositions of the staff at the Safeway on S. Nevada. The one exception if the S. Academy staff in the Starbucks coffee shop; they are exceptional. The icing on the cake for me was two visits in the past week At the cashier counter, I was asked if I'd like to donate to the Children's Toy fund. Both times I was paying with cash & had spent my limit so I had to say, "Not today." You might have thought I'd insulted the two different cashiers with my polite "no"! Their demeanor immediately changed & they were curt & almost angry. I wouldn't be so put off if I hadn't contributed NUMEROUS times over the past month to the store's thanksgiving food drive. I think the store manager needs to have a chat with the staff about their reactions to requests for donations. Sadly I won't know if they change their behavior because I won't be back!

If zero was an option I'd do it! I walked in and went to the atm the automatic door let me in, some child came at me sideways and told me I couldn't be there it was 11:03 at the time there were no signs that indicated they were closed. My atm card was already in the machine I asked if I could finish and he said, if it will even let you. Like really?!? Dude do your job and lock the doors post times of hours on the store doors, you have no problem posting holiday hours! Never goin back to Safeway again.

This place displays a clear and present sign of times. Shareholders have riddled this place with understaffing. Expect one to maybe two registers open with half the store attempting to check out. The wait time to check out is far more often longer than the time to shop. You want convenience? Go anywhere else but here Update : 8/19 Still a s*** show. Count on waiting in countless lines with one person on register. On other days, it's three cashiers with no lines. Never count on checking out in a timely manner.

I use this Safeway all the time, I prefer Safeway over the king super down the road. There produce is always fresh and the staff are so polite and friendly. The parking lot is really convenient to get to if your coming off academy and 115. They frequently have good deals and I definitely recommend.
