“We had to plan a wedding in Silverton from Maine and could not have pulled off the bar (and beer canoe) without Mike’s help. His knowledge and patience was admirable. Thanks to Mike and the crew at Star Liquor it was a success!Go there.”

“Sorry if I was rude. The people here are so polite. I'm pretty sure one can use someone else's card and if I was rich I'd have to transfer all my money. Unfortunately I have a like 125$. For all I know is she has a photographic memory or glasses that are recording. . If it was a small local bank card finding the zip code would be easy. I also go by my middle name if a female like that did that then recently was married and changed her last name the cashier would have no idea. I can remember up to a series of 10 easily because of remembering phone numbers. I just don't think this is alright and I don't think she does with older people.”

“The staff went out of their way to accommodate me. Honestly, I can't remember the last time I had such knowledgeable, friendly service. They even helped carry my beverages out to my car. Great selection, great service.”

“Friendly and helpful staff. Was able to find a couple of bottles of the local Honey House Distillery Straight Bourbon Whiskey which is to my knowledge not something you can find or order at Total Wine or Goody Goody.”

“Just the essentials here, but a good assortment/range of liquor, beer, wine, and other conveniences. It's great bring able to stop at Helen's on your way to the lake instead of having to go back into town for a pack of ciggies, a six pack, or a bag of ice. Thanks Helen!”

“I’m just here to say that you folks really have a spectacular employee working here and I’m very sorry for not knowing her name but she has curly pink hair and lots of personality. She’s very friendly to everyone, greets everyone as soon as they come through the door, consistently in a good mood, not overly chatty but still talkative, and really very good at her job. If I was the hiring manager at my company I’d be trying to steal her away! It’s a good store and everything, but this particular employee really elevates an otherwise ordinary shopping experience to a memorable one. I hope she is recognized for all that she does!”

“What more can I say about Jane. She is the most helpful employee I’ve ever come across in my many years of alcohol shopping. You need someone that knows her way around the tequila aisle? Ask Jane. You need a new recommendation on a pack of IPAs? Jane is your go to. But get in there while she’s still working, I heard it through the grapevine she’s only got a couple shifts left. Hurry in for the best alcohol buying experience money can buy! I left happy and satisfied.”

“Always amazingly kind! Pricing is comparable with most Durango shops, some things cheaper and some more expensive. Every place has their niche! This one will add new drinks that other places won't try like some small cinnamon whiskeys (outlaw?) and the Long Drink.”

“Friendly, close by hotels and shops, lots of variety of beer, hard liquor and ciders/ seltzer. I'm gluten free so I go for the cider/seltzers. I don't love sweet drinks and I like to try local items. They lots of have options. If you play it safe they have the common brands too.”

“Quick service, good small town vibes (not on the main strip) and really really good food. We had the calzones and they were great. Feels like a place for locals. Not much seating but good vibes and good food and drink. Highly recommend.”

“I have always found the Mercado Corner Market a friendly and helpful place.Following the CoVid-19 pandemic, they seemed to work hard to increase their food offerings, which probably was appreciated by folks who live at Pinyon Terrace. I am not sure why a person who wanted PBR Tallboys, and cheap Vodka would elect to shop at MCM. ..The Sonoco is closer, on foot for the folks without driver's licences, and the Elmore's corner liquor store caters to all tastes. Plus, at the Sonoco, you can get your child a hot dog, or a cup of Ramen noodles...or an ice cream. As, indeed, all but alcoholic parents can do at the Family Dollar, WalMart, Mercado Corner Market, or..even...The Sonoco Gas Station.Which has lots of tacky beer. And a reasonable attempt at foodstuffs. Toilet paper, paper towels, and sodas. And can be walked to by those who are bipedal and choose not to be arrested. Again. And Again...as Habitual traffic offenders...Mercado Mkt serves both the employed, and the social serviced section. In my opinion the do a great job at doing both. If they accepted Fool Stamps, it would be helpful.I've said the same to Donna at Sonoco. One can only assume there is some reason why a Republican refuses. While living in a neighborhood with a substantial poverty level.”

“Great service and hospitality. Their beer is cold and garlic knots and pizza is good, but decided to get the chicken wings this time and they were pretty soggy, better options in town.”

“I've been meaning to write a proper thank you note to the staff at Mac's, but keep procrastinating, so I'll just leave it right here for everyone to see... This past August, I was passing through Durango with my brother and his family, on our way back to N.M. from the Mushroom Festival in Telluride. We stayed just up the street at the Best Western, and decided to share a small bottle of whiskey while the kids swam & ate pizza. My younger brother couldn't find his ID, and the woman working refused to sell to him. Big sis to the rescue. Unfortunately, I forgot to retrieve my driver's license after the purchase, which I didn't realize til it was time to fly back to Oregon. Luckily, the ABQ TSA was super cool, and they let me board without too much trouble. Soon as I realized I'd left my ID, I called Mac's, and the store employee found it, and agreed to mail it back. Couple days later, to my great relief, the forgotten ID arrived in the mail. Thank you, kind Mac employee. You really saved me hassle & stress. I still owe you a stamp. Everyone else - please frequent this establishment. Excellent selection, and superb customer service.”

“This is without a doubt the best store in town! Will and Candice are great people to talk with and I personally come here a lot for a variety of things. Bourbon, wine and beer they have it all at a great price. I highly recommend their Russell’s Reserve Private Barrel pick, it is delicious!”

“Great selection on of beer and wine. Love that the owner cares about the environment and isn’t wasteful with plastic bags. She was quick to offer a box for us to take our items away. I liked the 5% discount for cash. Loved that I could pet the cat after using sanitizer. What a beautiful and sweet cat. Owner was funny and helpful.”
