We made a day trip out of it from Denver. We did the historical, shining and haunted tour. Our favorites were the historical and shining. The guides were enthusiastic and knowledgeable. If you are a fan of The Shining, you will probably enjoy this place. Not being a horror movie fan and having never read The Shining, the appeal was lost on me. I found it to be more of a tourist attraction than a hotel. We had lunch in one of their restaurants and we both found the food disappointing.
