“You broke me and carried me.. you made me feel like the man I desire to become.. you inspired me.. you smelled pretty sick in the Back room when the staff quit allowing the back doors to be opened for fresh air.. but.. you were my Sanctuary and Safe Haven.. I Prayed in you, I cried in you, I felt hatred towards the world, and you fueled me to shred my body into a soulless machine.. R.I.P. McKibben..”

Gyms
“Ivy Gym is amazing. When they re-organized it, the weight room became somewhat chaotic. It is always busy and others fight over the next equipment to use. The great things about Ivy Gym are the indoor track, courts (basketball, volley ball, racket ball), rock climbing wall, different studios, and swimming pool. I find it neat that they also have parental workout room. Ivy Gym is pretty much a commercial style gym.”
“There are two main gyms I go to: Waller and Garcia. Waller is now 24/7, only if you register your DOW id/CAC. A lot of equipment to use and not so crowded. Waller has different rooms for different equipment. The main area has a lot of squat racks, deadlift/Olympic platforms, and free weights. There isn't any mirrors in the main room.
Some soldiers complain about access, yet there is a white board with instructions along with clear indicators. I heard troop A told troop B (who doesn't have access / ID doesn't work) that they don't want to lose their privilege due to the rules and policy bc troop B wanted to get in after staff hours. It's best to look over the form and understand what is laid out. It doesn't take long to register and the staff will check if it works or not (best to do the registration at Waller instead of Ivy). Overall, it is a great gym with 24 access. Those that complain about it, an easy fix is go to the other ones, use outdoor equipment (rope, dip bars, pull up bars, etc.), or register.”
“One of the many gyms on Carson that has every exercise equipment you need. Besides Waller, Garcia Gym is one of the best. As mentioned, Garcia Gym has the majority of equipment for your needs from Olympic, Power, or general strength building.”
