I've driven or ridden by this store over 100 times as I live not far from here. I can probably count on one hand the number of times I've seen a car in the lot. Today I was on a bike ride on an extremely cold day and desperately needed a bathroom. I stopped to check the place out, and when I walked in, the salesperson was on the phone. I gave a quick look around and noticed some gloves and socks that could be useful for winter riding and skiing. The bathroom was right there also, so I stepped in to use it. I was thinking about how I would love to support a small business rather than a Christy's, etc. the next time I need ski or winter bike gear. I was also thinking this would be a great place for our out of state friends to rent skis (rather than the resort which is what we've always done) the next time they came. However, when I walked out of the bathroom, I was "greeted" with "where did you come from?" I started to explain that I was riding my bike and stopped here to use the bathroom. I was about to tell her that I would like to look around at the gloves, but was cut off with a "well our restroom is for paying customers only, so please don't use it again". Well, she won't have to worry about that, because as quickly as it came into my mind that I might buy something there, that thought immediately shifted to the fact that I will never support that business after a first interaction like that. Here I was with a credit card in my jersey pocket and room in my camelbak to put some things and already thinking about who else I could bring in to support this small business. All it took was one negative, rude interaction to change that. To the woman working here: first, I understand when a business downtown doesn't allow people to just wander in and out using the bathroom. However, you are in the middle of nowhere, and I was the only person in your store. Was it that big of a deal? Second, don't be dismissive of people that could be potential customers. I was riding in below freezing weather. I also ski and have plenty of friends who do too. I could have shared a positive experience with them, instead I'm sharing this publicly and will also make sure my friends hear of my experience as well and never step foot in your store as they are riding or driving by. I would think with the lack of customers you seem to have that you'd be thrilled someone was even in your store. You had a moment to be kind and make a first impression; instead you chose rudeness and definitely lost any potential customer you had in me or anyone I know. Think again the next time you want to react that way. Of course maybe you just rely on Texans and Floridians and don't care about Coloradans?

Now our 3rd/4th time using them, and they are fantastic. Overly accommodating, they take their time to ensure the correct fit, and so reasonably priced for out-of-towners or those with growing children. Use them every time we come out west to play in the snow!

Amazing family owned store, everyone was so helpful and patient with us. They had a big selection with lots of sizes. Definitely would come again on our next trip. S/o to Karen for the best customer service!

I typically enjoy going to small time businesses like this, and absolutely love supporting the cause. However, the experience I had at this business was abysmal. I had made a reservation on behalf of a family member only for the family member to fall ill and miss their flight because of being stuck in the emergency room during the holiday season. The entire situation was stressful. That family member fell ill and was then admitted into the hospital. We luckily got her into Colorado the day before Christmas by spending tons on a plane ticket to get her here. I digress, the entire situation was stressful and on top of it all, this business would not let up on their refund policy even with propelling evidence that us missing our reservation was beyond our control. Of course they have a generous rescheduling policy but it just didn't make sense for my situation given the fact going up to the mountains after what was diagnosed no longer possible. This policy was fragrantly brought up many times when I just wanted my 60 bucks back. At the end of the day, the owner showed no compassion whatsoever to my situation, and went on to publicly berate me and imply I was lying about my situation altogether. I just can't support a business that can't evolve with the ebbs and flows of everyday life. Or better yet, just show some compassion at a moment that could be made much better by showing just a tad more empathy.

I had such a great experience renting from here. I needed snow jackets and snow pants to go snowmobiling. Everything was ready and prepared for me the day I needed it. The staff was super friendly. Express drop-off was super convenient. And I have nothing to complain about. I also received great tips for skiing and being on the snowmobile from the staff.

I can't say enough good things about this shop! The people that run it are very kind and helpful. They made excellent suggestions to help us get everything we needed and also saved us some money. The gear was outstanding! As a mom of a teen, it's just not practical to buy expensive clothes he'll grow right out of before the next season. We got him the men's performance package and it was exactly what he needed for our trip to Breckenridge that dumped snow all over us. He stayed warm and dry and was able to stay out on the slopes all day.I highly recommend stopping by!! You'll be cared for and the gear will meet your needs so you can just enjoy your trip.

Absolute perfection all the way around. We are from San Antonio so this was a life saver for our family. So clean. So professional. So helpful. So caring. All the equipment were in almost new condition. It all worked so good and helped us have the best time ever. Highly recommend. Prices are just fine. Couldn’t be more grateful!

The owner was super helpful and friendly! As never-before, out-of-town skiers, her approach to finding us the right rental ski gear was perfect. She had us try on a number of different sizes to make sure everything was the right fit and offered enough movement during our time on the snow. One thing I do want to mention is that the clothes are (thankfully) cleaned very thoroughly from what I can tell, but the cleaning smell lingers. Might not be great for those with a super sensitive nose. If you're not one of these people, I highly recommend this business!

This is the best place to rent your ski apparel. The lady was super nice and the process was quick and easy. It's at $40 to rent per day and it's totally worth it.

Family of 4 southwest Floridians here....we wanted to go see the Rockies in winter and needed to gear up. Mountain Threads delivered on every point - the staff were extremely helpful with clothing choices and sizing and the clothes and gear were like new and worked perfectly to keep us warm and dry. Everything was bundled in handy duffle bags and the store is conveniently located right off I70 for easy pickup/drop-off. MT will be our go-to anytime we hit up CO in winter!

We used Mountain Threads for our annual friends trip! It was easy to rent online, then we showed up and need a few extra things and they were able to provide them! Jack was wonderful to work with.

Mountain Threads is such a fantastic concept and they (Karen) came through in the clutch!! I called late the night before asking about the Men's Performance Package, Karen told me that it would be taken care of to which it most certainly was! Next day, I picked up the package and went snowboarding. The price was also incredibly reasonable. Thank you so much Karen and crew! Next time I'm in Colorado, I will absolutely keep Mountain Threads in mind. Thank you again!!!

Had a wonderful experience with Mountain Threads! We ordered a good amount of gear for an employee event and pick up was easy and drop off was even easier! We were able to try our gear on and swap sizing, and I had called to ask about sizing in advance and they were super kind. Not on the mountain often at all but if I come back we will use them again!

Rented the snow package before going skiing. 10/10 for quality and service! We rented jackets, pants, goggles and gloves. Everything was as good as new and fit perfectly. The staff was so awesome and helpful. Can’t wait to visit and rent here again.
