“I called at approximately 7:15 at night on a Friday and with no wait, I was able to get in and have my dog seen after a couple bite wounds. Tests and cleansing as well as pain meds and antibiotics were presented and they were very clear with their intent as well as prices. All of the stuff I encountered were very pleasant and attentive. “I want to start with Mikey, the receptionist, is amazing. I adopted a sick geriatric cat from the humane society named Evelyn and I’m very medically anxious especially with pets. Evelyn passed away unfortunately. But in the short time I had her, he addressed me as Evelyn’s mom before I even told him who I was lol. I swear that man listened to a call or voicemail from me every week. He truly listened to my concerns and handled them appropriately even if it was borderline annoying how often I called.

Now for her doctor, Dr. Joseph. Eve and I surprisingly only saw her once but in the initial wellness exam she was kind, thorough, and honest. Her vet tech was respectful, compassionate, and answered my questions with kindness. I was able to walk out only paying the exam fee and had a written script for her thyroid medication. After a few weeks Eve was still urinating inappropriately so my thought was that her medication wasn’t at the right dosage, I expressed this over voicemail. Mikey passed the message along to Dr. Joseph who prescribed an antibiotic for a UTI without an exam (as a financially unstable person, I appreciated that).

I do believe with her passing shortly after starting the Clavamox, we were both wrong. Maybe an underlying kidney issue, but I’m not a doctor. I regret not bringing her for bloodwork sooner (was scheduled for some time out). She passed comfortably and happily. Living a long life, I’m happy I could give her a comfortable space to spend her last months and pass peacefully and I’m forever thankful to Mikey, Dr. Joseph, and the vet tech for helping me give that to her.”

“We have nothing but amazing things to say about Dr. Robin and her wonderful staff. Being new to the area, Windsor Vet Clinic was recommended to us by a family friend, so we gave them a shot. We brought in our 12 year old Shar Pei with severe skin issues. I Should add we were hesitant to do so as no other vet had been able to figure out what was wrong. Well, not only did Dr. Robin figure out the issue, she treated him, got his hair to grow back, and made it possible for him to fully enjoy the remainder of his time with us. Every time we see her, she continues to blow my mind not only with her knowledge, but with the kind demeanor she carriers herself with.We currently have an 11 month old Dane, Anubis, who LOVES going to his check ups because he knows he will be greeted by an amazing staff who is always happy to see him (even when he smacks them with his tail). Personally, I love the professional relationship I have with the staff and Dr. Robin, I know that she will do right by my pets, and that she will answer any question I have with expertise and above all KINDNESS. In fact, my heart hurts for the day she retires; she is the BEST vet I’ve ever come across.Lastly, I sleep soundly at night knowing I give my money to an ethical business that follows COVID protocols, is women owned AND truly care to form a good relationship with my pets. “I am new to the area and one day noticed my cat had grown a huge lump on his neck while I was away at work. Terrified, I took him to a highland hills. Not knowing yet how scary the results could end up, they kindly let me know what it may be and what I may be dealing with. They were so professional and kind. It was extremely scary, yet they were so calm and collected which helped keep myself calm and collected. They were able to confirm he would be safely taken care of with proper medication which of course came with much joy. All the staff here truly treat your animal like a member of the family, in my experience. They pour love like it freely flows from a pitcher of kindness, taking the utmost care to make sure your pet is as looked after as possible. Our pup happens to absolutely love coming in and seeing the staff’s happy, attentive expressions (but I know some pets get anxious, and I’ve seen them handle their nervous guests with so much care).

In addition to the staff, the doctors are beyond top notch, and it’s clear they also love your pet like their own. They’re not afraid to collaborate with other VCA professionals, which is helpful if your critter needs specialized care.

My partner and I no longer live in Milliken, but we drive from over 15 miles to get her checked here (when we don’t need an ER).

I know some reviews talk negatively of the expenses, but I can understand how veterinary supplies and treatments have become more complex, successful, and innovative; for which there is a price. For me, even during financial struggle, I think of my pet as a member of my family. Given the veterinary medical industry and economy drives such prices, I’m still honored and happy to bring my sweet pup here as she healthily goes well into her teens.

Mine is a “frequent flyer” in need of monthly visits, and it’s a joy to bring the fur baby in for her treatment and general care. It’s my belief that the dedicated team here is a huge part of why she’s so healthy and happy.

I hope we have many more years bringing the current four-legged kiddo in, and any future doggies, my partner and I are definitely making the trek to VCA Milliken. It’s well worth it to us.
