“We came out from North Carolina for a seven day snowboarding trip and stayed at The Block, it was absolutely perfect for us. The 4 bunk room is pretty tight, but the price is so reasonable. It’s a very comfortable modern building, beautifully designed with lots of places to hang out, places to socialize if you wish, even a full bar. The shared kitchen is suitable for anything you would like to cook, with room in the refrigerator and freezer for your things. Honestly, this is an upscale hostel and don’t we wish they were all as nice as this one.”

The rooms are big, dog friendly and comfortable. Everyone on staff was beyond kind and helpful. We will be returning for snowboarding trips and celebratory events.”

“The Alpine Villa Retreat was the perfect venue for my family's fifth reunion. Twenty-two of us spent a week there and everything was perfect. It exceeded our expectations in every way. The house and facilities were all FIRST CLASS. The surrounding mountains, the trout stream on the property, and the magnificence of the house, all made for a story-book reunion. Every bedroom was a tastefully decorated suite. The kitchen had every utensil imaginable. The location could not have been better, with multiple hiking trails minutes away. The Roman Bath, Sauna, billiard room, inside gymnasium are there to satisfy any age. If anyone of us had any question or need, Donna was there in a flash with sound advice and support. The web site does not do the place justice. You have to be there to appreciate it. Frankly, I'm having difficulty finding words to adequately describe my family's exquisite experience. I highly recommend the Alpine Villa Retreat. It's impossible to go wrong.

“We got caught in a snowstorm driving through the mountains and had to stop. This was just perfect, service, room, parking, and the views were so nice. The room was very cozy.”
“The rooms are newly remodeled, the location is perfect with the lake right outside.
The breakfast was a good spread and they refilled everything very diligently.
The only thing I would want are more charging plugs and the check-in staff to be a little more friendly.

“We first checked in to a regular hotel room. But the toilet was clogged and could t be fixed, so the manager upgraded us to an amazing suite!! Service was excellent!”

“We recently stayed here for two nights and it was great. They said it was recently renovated and reopened. We stayed in a two bedroom with three queens. It was basically a small two bedroom two story townhouse. It has a full kitchen, dining area, living area, and two patios. There was plenty of room for the entire family and the price was amazing. It is also a very short walk to Main Street and the bus stop which is free. We will be staying here on all our visits moving forward.”
“Stayed here one evening and I have to say that's it's close to shops and restaurants, but we just didn't go to any! You can easily walk to everything, but we chose to drive around, see the sights and eat out.
Hotel is comfortable and well located. We would stay here again.”

“I love this place.
Showed up with my brother for an event happening. The man at the front desk was very nice and professional and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. He noticed we had one Queen bed and I told him yeah no problem my brother can take the bed I'll crash on the floor. He said you're not crashing on the floor I'm getting you a room with two beds. It was very cool that he upgraded our room like that just to be kind. The hotel is nice and comfortable and it's in a beautiful ski town and the management of the hotel has heart.
