Our son has been going here since he was 4 months old. Overall, we've been very happy with the experience for him. They seem to have a lot of enriching activities and the center has a cozy/family vibe. I absolutely love that they provide snacks and lunch. He gets much more variety than if it were just me packing his lunch every day. The hours are great, too. He loves going to see his friends and teachers, and that's what's most important!

Social/Emotional focused, very communicative, and very engaged with families! Use an app called Procare for communication to message back and forth with parents to ask and answer questions, post the weekly menu, and post photos and videos, it's so cute! Teachers are well-trained, respectful, and engaged!

We put a deposit down for our daughter to attend a few years back after taking a tour and discussing her start date. As the start date approached I hadn't heard anything or received any communication from take a break so I tried calling. No one ever live-answered the phone so I finally left a message asking someone to call me back. It made me nervous that no one answered their phone and I'd be sending my (then infant) daughter there. I finally heard from the administration and they told me they didn't know if my daughter would be able to start at the time we originally agreed on and they would have to get back to me. I hastily scrambled to find another place and luckily found a daycare that actually answered their phones. Take a break never offered me a refund or even bothered to call me back after I let them know my daughter wouldn't be attending.

5 stars from D'arla to every staff member. We got referred to TAB from friends who gave raving reviews. We relocated and unfortunately had to change daycares this month. BUT, I wanted to give the staff at TAB the credit they deserve. We had a 2 year old and 1 year old in the program, the staff treated our kids with love and respect. Helped them develop and learn every day. Our children went through the normal development that a child goes through from having a bad day, to having a rash from food sensitivity. D'arla and her staff handled every situation professionally and updated us immediately, her staff is well trained, and educated. This helped us feel comfortable during stressful moments. We couldn't be happier with how this program is run and we would refer anyone to them. We are extremely sad we had to leave. Thanks D'arla to you and all your staff!

Our 13-month old son attended Take-A-Break for a week as a trial. He loved it so much, we're enrolling him full time.So far, we love:- getting photos, updates, and teacher communications via the app- he's napping SO much better here than at his previous daycare (sleeping baby = happy/healthy baby = happy parents)- he's really comfortable with his teachers and fellow classmates already- lunch is provided (we pack his lunch, but I like having the option to switch him over in the future)- the kids, parents, and administrators are so friendly and happy (D'Arla even texted me pictures of our guy and checked in in him his first few days!) - it's VERY safe: I love the checkin/checkout policies and procedures (they are SUPER intuitive and safe)- the hours are flexible: as a dual working-parent household, we love that the center is open for ~11 hours/day. We would never want him to be there for that many hours, but we LOVE the flexibility the hours provide. AND they don't shame parents, no matter what times you pickup/drop off (our experience at our previous daycare)- bonus: they take credit cards (yay, points) and you can set it up to pay tuition automatically (as parents, we have so much on our minds already)!I'll update this if we have any other feedback, but big thumbs up in the meantime!

A great mix of play and learning. The best part is that little kids have opportunities for make believe and story telling. I love that this place promotes creativity in all forms.

Thank God there are more daycares in Lafayette now. This one is awful and the staff are rude & unprofessional. Before you think about this one look at the other daycares that are here in Lafayette trust me.

I'm unsure how there are so many good reviews. In my son's roughly 6 months here, he was bitten on 3 separate occasions. From these, he was scarred in the face and arm. Turns out it was an employee's child so it was brushed under the rug and defended. Then there's the fact of my son having "asthma". Turned out that his teacher was smoking around him constantly. Problem addressed, "asthma" disappeared. Yet employee remained and even praised. ?The place is cheap. I guess you get what you pay for. Best of luck.

The owner at first comes across very kind, until you have an issue then she handles things very unprofessionally. Especially if theres an issue with the way a family member of hers that works there cares for your child. Even harassing me via email when I blocked her on face book after asking her several times to stop. She spread false information about me to try to "rectify" her actions, telling her daughter that I owed money much later on when I did not and had never been told this by her personally, I even asked her to please send me what I owed if that was actually true and she never did. My children got hurt many times, my infant often had red blood shot eyes from crying, information was often pushed on me that my kids pediatrician said was inappropriate and incorrect, babies were not put in swings appropriately , I witnessed babies left to scream and cry in the crib room with the door close (which she has since removed the door even though she claimed it was not happening). I have no reason to say otherwise, I have never had such a poor experience at a childcare and I am so glad I took my kids out as soon as I could. Since then I have heard even more past employees talking about their poor experience there.

Staff and everyone there is great, it’s some of their policies are what i don’t agree with. Been taking my son there for 6+ months and just in case any absence happens; sickness, vacation, anything having to do with life getting in the way of getting your child to Take A Break, they will charge you regardless of giving them weeks notice. I get charging you if you just don't show up that day because then they could never fill your spot. That is not the case here. Once you sign the agreement you are locked in for getting charged regardless, NO MATTER WHAT. Then when you do want to cancel your agreement, they charge you 2 MORE WEEKS! They will drone on about "It's our policy" or "It's in the agreement" as if that makes it better. Bottom line, it's bad customer service and bad business in my opinion. Businesses do this all the time; 'It's our policy" So what? Get a better policy! Realize that life happens to people and not rake them over the coals when it does.

DeArla is offering parenting classes to help adults nurture and take care of our children. These classes are free to the COMMUNITY in an effort to help build a stronger society! I am so thankful that she has opened her facility and her heart to share the skills she has learned through both her daycare facility and her mentoring throughout the community. I am amazed to say that she offers these classes for FREE>>> and I'm THRILLED to say that I've already recognized opportunities for self growth and improvement. With many thanks, Leanne Goff
