1- Every time I go to the lumber yard, I spend at least 15 minutes waiting in the yard before anyone comes up to collect my sheet and pick up my items…it doesn’t matter what time of day. If you do have to pick up anything at the lumber yard, plan on spending at least 45 mins to an hour.
2- I’ve called in to place orders at tge lumber yard and no one has answered my calls 3 out of the last 4 times (all on different days of the week). And when I did leave a message with the sales rep at the lumber yard no one returned my call. Poor customer service and like another reviewer said, if you’re small they don’t need your money.
I would give the lumber yard 1 star but the millwork side has been very responsive and seems to be run much better, so they get 5 stars, average at 3.

I had a great experience with ordering doors through Jeremy. We didn’t have a contractor and he was happy to walk us through all of the details and follow up questions we had about ordering customer laser cut doors and hardware. Jeremy- thanks for helping us out. Doors turned out perfectly to match our new addition!

This is the worst company to deal with. Please save your time and money and find anywhere else to get your building supplies. They have shipped us the wrong doors 3 times now. They shipped us the wrong trim. They have cost us 3+ months in delays and now we have been waiting 1+ months for a refund. It's ridiculous.

Awful experience lasting over a year. Two of my shutters were damaged in a hail storm and needed to be replaced. After multiple calls, emails, and physically going to the office twice, I was finally able to order a replacement. I emailed the photos of what they needed to match the house and the dimensions. When I finally received the shutters 3 months later, they were the completely wrong style AND size to match the rest of my house. I called and emailed to fix the issue but went unanswered again FOR MONTHS. Finally had time to go into the office and they won't refund because it's been too long. It's not the correct product, no amount of time will make it the correct shutter. Avoid this place like the plague. You probably won't even get a response anyway.

As a contractor we are always looking for suppliers that can help us out on a lot of details and get quotes for our bids quickly. We've been working with Michael Yoest and he is great at getting information and quotes out to us in a timely manner and has so much product knowledge. Definitely recommend checking these guys out, they have everything you need!

We purchased windows for our entire house through Builders First Source and they were helpful while choosing the windows and taking the payment. Once the order was placed and the money was received, that was the end of their customer service. The order was placed over a year ago with the incorrect glass on four of the windows and we have yet to receive the correct glass. We were also told that the screens are on back order but we continue to wait. When contacted either through email or phone we are ignored or transferred to a different location with no answer or returned response. To say we are frustrated is an understatement. So if you are looking for windows do not use Builders First Source!

I wish I could give a zero. I was involved in what I think is a strange situation but it probably happens quite often. I hired a contractor to build a pole barn for me. About half way through the project the builder went bankrupt. We had paid the builder more than half of the contract rate but he failed to pay builders first source for the materials used on the job and we were sued. After several months of litigation we were made aware of a case law that allows a materials company to collect regardless of the situation with the builder. My bigger complaint is that Builders first source extended credit to this contractor and at least 6 other homeowners got burned as well. My complaint is that as a business you make credit decisions based on a risk, but apparently if you know case law none of that matters. This company took advantage of law and I'm the end my pole barn cost nearly double. 80k to 145k. Maybe the law was followed but the human law of right and wrong not so much.

A few years back I waited for 30 minutes at will call and was never helped. Boss sent me there today and I forgot this was the place. Guy in front of me was there 20 minutes with no help. But it might have been lunchtime. Nope! Save yourself 2 hours and drive to Castle Rock to Moore Lumber. They help you right away. Even during lunchtime, when many of us have to get supplies.

Zero customer service from the guys in the yard! We own a roofing company and my wife had to pick up some 16’boards. The forklift operator literally sat there the whole time and watched her unload the boards and try and figure out how to secure them in her 4 runner today! Absolutely shameful lack of chivalry or even sense of duty on their job! Will go out of our way to never buy from them again!

I got a quote for EWP products from the Littleton branch. What a mess it would turn out to be. When it came time to ship my order I got a call from the sales manager stating that the would not be shipping my order because I did not purchase my lumber package from them as they were almost $18k more than their competitor at the time. I did get this order after numerous phone calls. When I tried to buy a few more EWP items later on that I was missing, I was informed that they only will sell to their large account customers. I’m a small time contractor and my money doesn’t matter to them.
