Solid grocery store with the option for gas which is a plus but this location desperately needs self checkout stands. If they can improve the checkout time at this location it would be better but don't come here if you're in a rush.

What a dishonest store! Today I came in to buy two things on sale. Both of them were set up on the shelves in a way specifically designed to lure the unwary shopper into buying the same brand's very similarly packaged, overpriced version. I wanted Kleenex white facial tissues, 4 boxes for $5.00, and regular Scott toilet paper, 15 rolls for $10.99. Mixed in with the sale tissue boxes were slightly larger tissue boxes, all colored the same. The sale boxes, at $1.25 each, contained 160 tissues. The virtually identical boxes containing 210 tissues cost $3.99 each. I grabbed 4 boxes that were next to each other, and -guess what- one of them was the overpriced one. Ironically, the boxes both say Kleenex, Trusted Care." The only thing different between the boxes is that the bigger one says a slightly bigger number: it does contain 50 more tissues, for an extra $2.74. I kid you not. What a scam the grocery store runs with this stuff! Same sort of scam with the TP. At eye level were packages of 8 rolls for $9.99. Down on the bottom shelf were the sale packages, half the price, 15 rolls for a buck more. The sale ones were kind of tucked away and a bit hidden behind a display in the aisle. I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried. I used to think that these small "accidents" were simply mistakes in stocking. Now it's clear that they are not mistakes at all. These must be techniques that a greedy corporate management has devised, in order to make us pay more for our groceries than we intended to. I hate being played for a fool. Another common scam that I've run into here is that the computer people "forgot" to program the sale price into the cash registers. It has happened to me far too often for it to be normal incompetence. Don't shop at Safeway. There are lots of grocery stores that are honest and have better-quality food. Lucky's is only a block away. Their advertised prices might be a bit higher, but at least they sell you the stuff at the price you expected to pay.

In a hurry so used this store.... wow. So bad. 23% more expensive than Target. I actually checked. Dairy products on the shelves past their sell by dates, missing products (no salted almonds??? WTF) and no hand baskets. , Plus no self check out. It's been a year since I came here and it's going to be a lot longer before I come back. I know... First world problems, but that's sort of the point of Yelp.

The machine does not work. No out of order sign. Customer service is unfriendly and incompetent. Both Safeway and coinstar refuse to take ownership of the machine and keeping it operational for customers.
