“I called the previous day and was able to schedule an appointment for the following morning. I arrived two minutes late, and no one made me feel uncomfortable or rushed. Libby was weighed and brought back promptly. The technician gathered initial information about our concern, and Dr. Cross came in within a few minutes.
Dr. Cross was professional, knowledgeable, and thoughtful in her communication. We proceeded with radiographs, and sedation was discussed as I expected. Pricing was clearly reviewed, and although I was comfortable with sedation, the team decided to attempt the radiographs without it first. Libby came back looking like a queen, and they told me she was incredibly cooperative—which significantly reduced the cost.
Throughout the visit, I genuinely felt like Family Pet Hospital treated us as long-term patients, not revenue producers. The radiographs received a full orthopedic review, and Dr. Cross clearly explained the findings and provided written notes so I could fully understand the results.
We’ll be returning to Family Pet Hospital soon for Libby’s spay and baby tooth extraction. I’m very grateful for the care, transparency, and respect shown to both of us.”

“I'm writing this review a little late but I thought it was more relevant in my case to speak of long term results. Grace, my very athletic Foxhound mix blew out her knee while playing. She was still young enough to where surgery was an option. Dr Peila explained the procedure and follow up for a plate in her knee. Not an inexpensive surgery- but they helped us to secure some financing options for it. I'm so glad we had this done. My dog has recovered 100%. It has been two years now and she has a quality of life she would have without Dr. Peila's help. GOOD JOB TEAM!”

“Dr. Reiter is a great doctor with a direct approach, who lets you know exactly what results are lucky with each option of treatment. It's nice to have someone who cares also provide not only exceptional, but professional treatment for your fur baby. It is also helpful to have a Doctor who keeps the cost of treatment in mind. I would trust Dr. Reiter and her staff with my pets any day of the week. Update as of 1/9/2026, still would.”
“Best vet in Longmont! The care our animals received from every single employee here is amazing. You can tell that they're really looking out for the best interest of your pet above all things. We sadly had to put two of our dogs down recently, due to their failing health due to their age. The first one was planned and the doctor and vet tech came to our house and the entire experience was beautiful and what you would hope for your fur baby's last moment. Our sweet boy dog needed to be euthanized in an emergency, following a 9 min seizure, and they got us in right away and helped him pass comfortably. It was such a a difficult situation, but even the doctor teared up. You can truly tell they all really care about you and your pet. Not to mention their prices are super reasonable and they don't try to push unnecessary products or tests on you. You can't go wrong choosing them as your vet!”
“I bring both of my dogs here and they receive phenomenal care. One of my dogs is extremely anxious so it takes several staff members and a lot of treats to get her checked out. They are always very patient and compassionate.”
“If I could rate this place 6 stars I would. We were fully prepared to put our 4 year old tabby cat down tonight as we couldn't afford an 11,000 surgery from another practice to fix an intestinal blockage. Dr. Jensen was able to work with us and offer us a lower price and ended up saving our cat's life today. If it wasn't for Dr. Jensen, our night tonight would have been filled with miserable mourning, but instead, I get to be with my healed cat while he sleeps and purrs comfortably in my arms. Dr. Jensen was compassionate toward our cat, our family, and our financial situation. He worked with confidence, urgency, and compassion as he guided us through options for our cat. We owe this place a lot. Would highly recommend.”

“I want to start with Mikey, the receptionist, is amazing. I adopted a sick geriatric cat from the humane society named Evelyn and I’m very medically anxious especially with pets. Evelyn passed away unfortunately. But in the short time I had her, he addressed me as Evelyn’s mom before I even told him who I was lol. I swear that man listened to a call or voicemail from me every week. He truly listened to my concerns and handled them appropriately even if it was borderline annoying how often I called.
Now for her doctor, Dr. Joseph. Eve and I surprisingly only saw her once but in the initial wellness exam she was kind, thorough, and honest. Her vet tech was respectful, compassionate, and answered my questions with kindness. I was able to walk out only paying the exam fee and had a written script for her thyroid medication. After a few weeks Eve was still urinating inappropriately so my thought was that her medication wasn’t at the right dosage, I expressed this over voicemail. Mikey passed the message along to Dr. Joseph who prescribed an antibiotic for a UTI without an exam (as a financially unstable person, I appreciated that).
I do believe with her passing shortly after starting the Clavamox, we were both wrong. Maybe an underlying kidney issue, but I’m not a doctor. I regret not bringing her for bloodwork sooner (was scheduled for some time out). She passed comfortably and happily. Living a long life, I’m happy I could give her a comfortable space to spend her last months and pass peacefully and I’m forever thankful to Mikey, Dr. Joseph, and the vet tech for helping me give that to her.”

“Best Vet in the Carbon Valley area! I drive by here on my way to golf all the time and we needed to get our Pancake (cat) in for some shots. We decided to try this place out because of a less than ideal experience at Pawz. That vet just wants to drug your cats up to do the simplest of procedures, insane.
Anyway, not here! They were prompt, informative and were gentle and loving with Pancake. She was nervous at first, but got real comfortable as the staff was so sweet! We will be bringing our other cat here moving forward as well. This place truly knows how to take care of your animals and isn't just trying to squeeze dollars out of ya. I will say that dental cleaning quote was a shock, but the breakdown of the services was super helpful to figure out what I'm paying for exactly. Top notch service.”
