“EDIT: Marc did call me after reading the review which did make a difference on the customer service front. Also explained statefarm has been doing quite a few cancellations in Colorado - which again is not on him nor his office but corporate - which is why he didn’t catch mine.
Overall still sucks on the cancelation but the call made an impact
TLDR:office staff is friendly and overall good rates - I do recommend giving them a shot. 3 stars is poor professional courtesy for no follow up after being dropped for a single theft claim.
Drop is on corporate, not them, but would’ve expected more. A simple follow up would have made the difference.
I’ve only ever worked with Peter and occasionally Eric at this office. Been a policy holder for both home and auto for just under 2 years.
Peter was nice, was fairly responsive on questions, got letters from Marc thanking me for being a client around typical dates like birthday, Christmas etc. Overall it WAS a great experience and never had any complaints - overall good service and guidance.
Then, I filed a theft claim, never filed any other claim before this and once again, customer service was super helpful. Fast forward 4 months and I get a random mail from StateFarm they are canceling my home owners insurance because I filed the claim.
Is it annoying? Yes. Is it just business? Yes, it is what it is.
However the reason for the 3 stars is not because they dropped me (for one single claim, but that’s corporate decision and not on them), but the fact I never received an email, call, text, anything from Marc’s office to at least check in and explain the situation. Nope, just a letter in the mail about being canceled for the claim.
Again, it’s a business decision by higher ups and I am not faulting them for that, but at the very least show some common courtesy and follow up after you - the office - were notified of the cancellation.”
