“I was there in the early eighties, in my twenties with my mother, father and brother, and some family friends. We were some of the folks that came in the area for the Oil Shale projects in Rifle and Battlement Mesa.
What a wonderful time and an unspoiled, beautiful lake. I don't if it's still the same owners but they were wonderful back then, and sounds like they are still wonderful today. I hope to get back there before my days are over. Such a beautiful place!
I struggle to recall much other than the shear beauty of the area. It was rustic comfort back then but was great none-the-less. I have no bad memories of the area so the service must have been good.”

“Great stay in town. I’m an officer who was driving through Meeker and found this spot by the highway. Clean rooms and great service! Front desk was very friendly and professional, nice housekeeper too. Will come back next time I’m in Colorado.”

“Clean, clean and clean. Owners are beyond friendly, charming and will do their best to make your stay enjoyable!!! THE most important thing for me when traveling: clean rooms and a nice bed. Elk Mountain is clean as it gets and the mattresses are super . There are laundry facilities steps from the rooms. The rooms vary in size and layout. The rooms Ive had were beyond spacious. Everything in the room worked as it should .
The showers are what I wish I had at home. Very nice showers!! Temp and pressure are gold.
For the anglers: a five minute walk brings you to some of the prettiest magazine cover trout water. Start from the bridge and work your way into town.
I cant say enough about the place. Convenience stores and restaurants are a short walk. Ill be back for again and again for sure. Anglers and hunters - there is ample space in the rooms for gear. Elk Mountain does not play games with weekend rates!!!! Thank you EMI !”
