Great Sand Dunes Parking is a parking lot near the sand dunes in Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve, you are able to drive very close to the sand dunes, there is ample of free parking here, and there is a toilet as well.the hike to get to the dunes themselves will vary on how far you are willing to hike out, this is the first left turn after you pass the visitor center.

Just a short walk to the dunes. Bring water.

Parking lot was perfect. Small walk to the sand. Maybe a small parking lot during peak summer evenings but late summer was good.

It's a fairly large parking lot, but I suspect it's not quite enough for the busiest days on the dunes. There are alternative options for accessing the dunes if you don't want to mess with the crowds here.

One of the best national parks in Colorado. Amazing beauty of nature. Plan to go early to reach the top .At evening temperature drops suddenly make sure to carry layering. Before heading towards sand there is small creek with chilled water but can be passed with bare feet. Don't forget to have mosquito repellent. Try sand boarding for sure one of the best experiences.Overall a must see place.

Great Parking lot for the sand dunes. Bring bug spray because the mosquitoes are aggressive. It fills up fast so the earlier you get there the better.

This place is awesome. Rent a sled at Oasis right before the entrance. They are not available inside the park .Leave your shoes in the car, take some flip flops to cross the water and walk to the dunes. It's further than it looks and there are rocks in the lower sand. Once you are past that, you can slip the flip flops into a backpack. There are many deep dune valleys where you don't have to walk to the top. Take your time, it's hard work walking on the sand. Overall great time.

Get here early or you park on the road. Easy walk in, but after a day of hiking, the trek back to the car can be rough

Nice parking area, bear-proof dumpster at the entrance. Bathrooms and showers are available too, although I believe the showers are turned off for the winter. This is a really nice, dog-friendly area that we really enjoyed.

Parking is the best you can get without taking the primitive road (which you don't want to do without a decently capable off-road vehicle)
