About Pueblo Zoo

The Pueblo Zoo is a charming and growing zoo located in Pueblo City Park, covering twenty-five acres and home to over 250 animals from 125 different species worldwide. As an AZA-accredited facility, it maintains high standards in animal care and guest experience. Visitors appreciate the friendly and knowledgeable staff, who often take time to show animals' perches, diets, and ages. The zoo offers a pleasant environment for families and young children, with a layout that allows for easy exploration and plenty of shade, making it enjoyable even on hot days. Many animals, such as penguins, red pandas, and kangaroos, can be observed, though some may be resting or hiding during certain times. The zoo is appreciated for its affordability, with low admission rates and partnerships that provide free or reduced-cost visits for those who need them. Education programs reach thousands of children annually, and the zoo hosts camps, volunteer opportunities, and on-site activities to deepen engagement. Visitors enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, the variety of animals not often seen at larger zoos, and the ongoing addition of new exhibits. Though some amenities like the café may be seasonal, overall, the Pueblo Zoo offers a lovely, family-friendly outdoor experience with opportunities to learn about wildlife and conservation.
