“Stopped here to ask about lunch & to find a loo in Marble yesterday, a town of 133 people, according to the 2020 U.S. Census, and a town my dad loved & showed me in 2008, and met beautiful people, Lynn and Vickie, who listened to my love for my dad, gave me hugs, and gave me a map to find the happy public restrooms in this friendly artist & historic marble quarry mountain town, beloved my dad & now me. After enlightening & encouraging chit chats with both Lynn & Vickie inside, Vickie gave me a tour outside of her husband, Rex Branson's, and her art work, which I found beautiful & fascinating. I asked if I could take pictures, and got their business card, then found them online later. Inquired if/how they deliver, and they do & can! And they can guide me as to all the equipment I'd need on the other end to receive such a huge, heavy piece of beautiful white marble art work, hopefully / potentially one day for my dad's, now my, house in Denver, in our backyard, as a heartfelt tribute to my dad & our journey here. Per Wikipedia, the white marble from this historic quarry has been used in Washington, D.C., for the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (important to me, given my dad was a Vietnam Veteran, and my grandfather a WWII Veteran) and the Washington Monument. It's also been used in equally important cities to my dad & me: San Francisco and New York City. Absolutely loved meeting & chatting with Lynn & Vickie yesterday, as it was exactly what I needed, and the purpose for this mountain trip! To remind me of my roots, and to help me fall back in love with my home state of Colorado. I had so many questions for Vickie about how they carve marble into round, smooth shapes, and she invited me back to watch them make art in July. I can't wait to return next summer!”
“I love this wonderful shop. Beautiful cabin decor! Everytime I am in Redstone, this is my first stop. For those that think this is a trinket shop or overpriced.... #1 this is not a tourist trinket shop. The items in this shop are high quality cabin decor. Beautiful things you proudly display in your home. I have bought many items and have had many compliments on my decor. As far as overpriced. Many of the items are hand made by artists. The items I have purchased will last a lifetime and will be handed down to family. So yes, high quality items do cost more than trinket prices. The owner is a very nice man. Always welcoming to my husband and I. Not just because we purchase items, but because he is a nice man. He always answers any questions we have asked and I have always seen him same to other customers. I have seen him ask people where they are from and welcome them into his shop. There are a few clothing items and coffee mugs that I don't think are overpriced and he also has a markdown cave on the front porch. So there are items for just about everyone in any price range. If you are in the market for beautiful home decor, this is the place to go if you are in Beautiful Redstone Colorado ❤️”
