“Visiting a small town post office in the United States is a decidedly different experience than walking into one in a larger city. During our cross country road trip, the kids wanted to send some letters to their Grammy and Pop Pop, and for whatever reason, I took my postage stamps out of the center consul of my truck before our journey. We found ourselves here and quaint little Walsh, Colorado, pull the truck and trailer over to the side just off the 160, and ran inside. It's everything you'd expect. Somewhere between an episode of Little House on the Prairie, a hallmark card advertisement, and an early episode of Quantum Leap. No, the other one. The earlier one. Scott Bakula. Anyway, this little post office, like so many others across our great country, still seems to understand the need for kindness, customer service, patience, and the power of a friendly smile. Small bank of PO boxes, the usual signage and service, and a few little odds and ends for sale that support sending things by snail mail in a digital world. I would rather visit the department of motor vehicles without an appointment then venture into one of my local post office is here in Southern California. I can't say the same about this outpost, as it's one of the smaller yet nicer ones I have had the pleasure of visiting.”
