“I drove 40 minutes one way after seeing a post on Facebook about this places sandwiches. I didn’t even know they had sandwiches. Heck, until today I didn’t even differentiate them from the other baked ham company. I have at least an hour drive back home and I would do it all over again tomorrow too.
Upon entering this place, I was warmly greeted by John and the young gal behind the counter. The place looks the same as it did in 1986 when they opened (I wasn’t born until the 90’s so I’m guessing) but the faded silk floral decor really hit home. The tables all had adorable Valentine’s Day arrangements on them too. Anyways, don’t let the ambiance turn you away.
I ordered a ham to make my own ham salad and ordered the most simple yet delicious bratwurst sandwich. They make everything they sell here less the potato chips and the salami and it shows— I haven’t had a brat like this since my last trip to Germany. Juicy, tender, full of flavor. Great kraut. Tasty provolone. Brown mustard hit just right and the bread— oh my god the bread. Crisp outside, soft but strong enough to support the contents of the sandwich. Simple but perfect.
I got chips and a pickle and I still think I was under $15. I don’t think you can get a sandwich at snarfs for less than $15 and this was bigger than their large size. Potato salad was also delicious and they make their own homemade beans which I’ll have to try on my next trip.
We must keep these businesses open! I hope this review inspires others to check it out. They have been open 40 freaking years!!”
“This elegant European market is tucked into an unobtrusive, L-shaped space sandwiched between Restaurant Olivia and a Starbucks at the very busy intersection of Downing Street and Alameda Avenue. You must be driving west on Alameda to access the parking lot. There is a large sign there.
You can enter the market from the main entrance facing Alameda or from the back entrance off the parking lot. The front of the store has a long wall of imported groceries and a bakery counter offering breads, pastries, quiches, fresh sandwiches (on baguette, croissant, or pretzel bun), soups, salads, and a wide variety of imported chips and drinks.
There's a huge cheese cooler and lots of chilled, grab-and-go items. A table offers some kitchenware and gifts. A seating area is provided by the parking lot entrance.
I'm on the mailing list which has offered a series of food specials and pop-up events. I was enticed in last weekend by a pop-up cassoulet special. I arrived to find a tent at the edge of the parking lot, sheltering a huge propane wok. The white beans, sausage, and pork belly were gently simmering with a wonderful aroma. What a treat!”
“This place is so cute. The hot meatball is so good. Every order of a sandwich comes with a bag of chips and they have a variety of drinks in a case like a gas station. Definitely coming back here!”
“The butcher is amazing!!! She’s really come through for us on special occasions and holidays—seriously helped us cook some absolute show stoppers. We also love going to the butcher for everyday needs. The quality is great and the butcher is so knowledgeable and helpful. Every time we walk in we tell ourselves we need to go more often. It’s really great to have a butcher we trust and enjoy going to.”
“Best family owned business for 100 plus years and stays consistent and innovative every year. The staff is so incredible and talented with the same happy faces.
If you haven't tried their selections of products, you're missing out!”
“Mark and the crew are just the best! And on top of that, their ground beef is so so SO good! They even offered to special order some organ meats for me that are hard to find in the area. Love this place and definitely going back!”
“amazing people and products. I work across the street so I've been in a handful of times but today decided to snag a container of their house made gyro meat and house made tzatziki. SO GOOD ? their business adds so much value and authenticity to the neighborhood”
“I love this store! They have a huge selection of Russian and European foods and delicacies, from sausages and cheese to caviar and smoked fish. The staff is very friendly and helpful, especially the girls who work at the deli section. They make fresh salads, pastries, and other delicious dishes every day. The store is clean and well-organized, and the prices are reasonable. If you are looking for authentic and tasty food from around the world, you should definitely check out Black Sea Market”
“They are so amazing care of their food is amazing and fresh through me is so fresh as well their pastries are fresh and they are so friendly I was short like $2 and I was getting the rest out of my purse and she said that it was fine not to worry about it very sweet people and authentic delicious food for an awesome price”
“My family has been coming here since probably the 90’s and I’ve got to say the lady who runs this business has to be one of the most admirable people I’ve met in my life. I can’t recommend this place enough and it will always hold a special place in my heart.”
“5 stars bc the service and meat was good. But the prices are NOT reasonable like others mentioned, even for dry aged. Denver steak costs 25$ a pound here. You can get it wayyyy cheaper online or literally anywhere else nearby.”
“Great selection of wines. The staff is very helpful and very knowledgeable and will help you find what you need. We loved each of his recommendations. Perfect for a Greek family celebration! What a treasure!!”
“I was quite disappointed with market. Maybe it was great when opened but not anymore. First of all strong food cooked food. You are five minutes in there and you need to do a laundry. Maybe I expected it to be a store sourced from Eastern Europe but there are no such items at all.”
“I have been a Chef at local restaurants and always use Lombardi Bros. when I could. Great product and customer service. One of the best companies I worked with. Can’t wait to do retail soon! They don’t do retail anymore and have been bought out but they are hopefully as good a company.”
“Nice Little Mexican Meat Store.. They also have Cooked & Ready to eat (Barbacoa.. Pork Skins.. Cow Tongue.. Pig Ears & Lips.. Regular Pork Skins with & without meat) 05/2021. And a small selection of most of what you need to make a Mexican picnic or food at the park & at home) 09/2023.”
“Anybody who knows me know I LOVE A GOLDSTAR HOTLINK… it doesn’t matter how it’s cooked, air fried with pancakes eggs and grits for breakfast, boiled with a side of chips for lunch or even grilled with mac & cheese baked beans and a side of cornbread for dinner… but to top all that off Walter and the guys (didn’t get their names) are simply AMAZING! Every single time I go in there they greet you with a very pleasant welcoming “Hi how you doing” “what can we get you “they even help you carry your things to the car if need be with that being said they don’t just treat you like a customer THEY TREAT YOU LIKE FAMILY! And for that I just want to say THANK YOU!
With Love and blessings

“Clean and aesthetic store. Andrew was kind and helpful. I enjoyed the In-Body scan and appreciate that they offer that as a free service. It’s very clear that they are a client-centric company/branch. Each meal I’ve had so far is yummy and convenient.”
“I have come to this Carniceria before for some things (medicine) before and some little things. The staff is nice and welcoming. I actually grabbed some produce last visit and some vegetables and fruit looked old as well as some meat. I wanted some beef chuck ribs and when I was cutting them I felt they looked so much thinner and had more fat the the ones I saw on videos of the receipt I was following that were purchased on a packet from some grocery store. The chorizo was good I’ll say.”

“Hands down the best sausages and dogs ive ever had. Took a tour years ago. Keep seeing their products around. The story behind the business is incredible, i miss the cafe. They make the best real encased sauages/brats/hefs. And they have the best treat for kids ive ever seen, hot dogs with mac and cheese inside them.. phenomenal. They are all meat no filler and have a snap to the casing when cooked just right. A must see and taste for any foodie or chef who wants to make a 1st class sandwich.”

“Had an early morning delivery park in the staging area day before. Had no problems with the yard dog kind and friendly staff, unloaded me quickly in 30 minutes. Went back to staging area for the next drop next door same great experience..”
“I've been visiting this store since March and love the selection and friendly service at checkout. It's always nice to see friendly employees, especially the woman with blonde hair in the baking department - she's always polite and friendly.
However, there is a point that I would like to note. Almost every time I approach the pie aisle, I am confronted with rudeness from a woman with dark hair. From the very beginning of communication, a phrase is heard in a rather sharp tone: “Tell me IMMEDIATELY, should you warm up or not?” As a client, sometimes I still don’t have time to make a choice, and I would like to have at least 10 extra seconds to think about it. There have been cases (and more than once) when, having ASKED to be heated IMMEDIATELY, as she ordered, I heard in response: “THEY ARE SO HOT, WHERE ELSE?” This phrase sounds like they are rushing me or wanting to get rid of it quickly.
Recently, an incident occurred that completely left an unpleasant aftertaste. When I had already picked up my purchase and returned literally a minute later to ask for napkins, I was again told in a rude manner: “WHY DIDN’T YOU IMMEDIATELY SAY THAT YOU NEEDED napkins?” This caused confusion. I, as a client, am not obligated to know in advance whether there are napkins in the package or need to ask separately, or to immediately understand whether the cakes are hot or not. Politeness and friendliness in such situations create an atmosphere to which you want to return.
I really hope that this review will be received with understanding and will help make the service even better. I'm sure such a good store could only benefit from having all the employees as nice as they were at the checkout counter and as the blonde woman in the bakery department.
I couldn't give a 1 star rating because of the other nice staff. But please take this point into account and work on the service. Thank you for your attention!”
“This place is so good! I love the butcher there, the restaurant and the bakery. They have some of the best burritos I've had in a long time, amazing tacos (I've tried a lot of taco places in this area and nothing can compare to this place, all at a good price. I'll be trying to buy my meat here from now on. I just found out they have tamales as well and I'll be trying next time. I highly recommend this place and everyone is very nice. They also have large coca cola in glass bottles. They also have shampoo and soap, I also buy from here. Prices are right and it's a small business. Please support this place!”
“The food was too good. Once that asada entered my mouth I heard the gates call upon me. Angels started singing I saw the white lights n all. That was absolutely too deliciously made. Anyways back to my rant about the asada. I felt my soul ascending as soon as the sweet delicate cow entered the hot cave of my mouth. If I could write a fanfiction about the ASADA I really would. Can you tell I liked the ASADA. Anyways 100% the best”
“Best butcher shop in Colorado. Without a doubt! Absolutely the best meats! You couldn’t find a better quality product anywhere! The people there are the nicest folks! Worth the drive no matter what part of the state you live!!!”
“I have been shopping at the store in Wistminister for years now, while there have been good and not so good employees. I was happy to see Jordan back running this branch. I have always had good service when I go in and the products are always what I expect.”
