“My wife and I stopped here a few years ago. It wasn't even on the agenda, but we arrived at a meetup with family early and this was nearby. It was the best time to go. No crowds and we got to see the whole thing in a rather short time. Friendly staff and lots of fascinating history and exhibits. As a Knight, it was very enriching to see our history given such love and care.”
“got my first cat from here and a buddy for her recently! always super easy to work with and they genuinely care about their animals. would recommend to everyone!”
“I broke my leg (never broke a bone before) and I needed a knee scooter. Tony was a big help and took care of what I needed quick, with a smile & very friendly. I am so happy I was referred to Charlie’s Closet!!! They deserve more then 5 stars”
“I had a great time at MakeHaven's pen-making and intro to blacksmithing classes.
The instructors were great and very patient even when I got stuck at some steps.
In both classes, you almost immediately dive right into things. It's very hands-on and I much prefer that way of teaching over others.
I highly recommend their classes and you don't need a membership to go to them.
In case anyone else is wondering how to enter the building, you need to go to the entrance on Chapel St, then call the MakeHaven space using the little digital box outside and ask to be let in.”
“Very nice people.Good service especially the bartender.Excellent atmosphere.John, the bingo caller, calls numbers too quickly. That's why people refrain in buying more specials.”
“I was told about how fab the food is here. It actually is and I have heard Isa is a great chef. His client speaks so well of his brisket and chicken Parm. I have the chicken Parm today. Again, I'll have the chicken Parm.”
“We had a wonderful experience adopting our newest family member from Animal Haven. We went to meet Gunner and knew right away we wanted to take him home with us.
Angelina brought him out to meet and play with us. She was super helpful and answered all our questions.
Ava handled our application. She was so kind and helpful. She communicated well with us during the whole process.
You can tell the staff and volunteers all care deeply about the animals and they all are well cared for.”
“Participating in the Lifestyle Change program has given me the education, the resources, the accountability and support I need to reach my goals. Although I’m only halfway through the program, I am confident that the Monitor My Health approach will continue to inspire and motivate me to stick with it and achieve success! Dr. Wade and Kate also make it fun!”
“My daughter Nalani needed something less instrusive after starring as the Little Mermaid at her school. This camp allowed her to enjoy her summer and get her comfortable for the stage without too much pressure. I LOVE THIS PROGRAM.”
“New haven reads has helped my daughter so much!! Myself and her teachers all notice a huge improvement in her reading. Thank you so much New Haven reads for all that you do!!Highly recommended.”
“I had a quick and easy experience here adopting my kitten. They set up a meet and greet and had my kitten spayed and at home with me in less than a week! Mary and John were so friendly and able to answer all my questions. My kitten’s paperwork/medical records were sent right to my email after the adoption. Highly recommend!”

“Excellent art school for adults and children in New Haven, offering classes in painting, pottery, printmaking, book arts, metal working, drawing, photography and more, at all levels of experience and skill. The teachers are excellent; they are predominately working artists who eagerly and compassionately share their experience and skills with beginning to advanced students. I highly recommend CAW.”
“My daughters just finished their first week ever at Schooner Camp. They loved it! Each time I picked them up they were super excited to tell me about their day. They made me promise to sign them up again next year. I got to meet one counselor and my husband met others during drop off. All were very professional, nice and enthusiastic. Great experience!”

“Can someone here tell me if the mortgage loans offered with them have a lower interest rate than the market? What would be the pro of getting their help, and having a conventional loan? if I am a moderate income person. thank you”
“I received swift and professional responses from Liberty Services Staff in regards to a property that we acquired. I was pleased at how quickly I received answers and information.”
“Very happy for my Vash worker Hurenia Davis moving on up and her special surprise. She helped me tremendously. Thank you , you'll be missed . Thanks to all actually !XoXo .”
“I became a LIT (leader in training) at 13 and overall, the outcome on myself emotionally and physically has improved. I learned how to catch the city bus, gained friendships, experienced new environments, gained leader ethics as well as time management etc. 10/10 would recommend.”
“This is a drop-off only donation spot. You cannot buy items from this Goodwill location. The staff is always very helpful. Drop off only when they're open. Check for the hours.”
“These people are doing the best they can considering they service two communities that don't properly fund them. Ask the towns they work for why they don't have a new building and more officers on staff? Its a shame and a sad situation for the animals.”
“I dropped off several bags of clothes, and Joe was a great help. He met us at the door and insisted on taking the bags from our car even though we tried taking them to the door for him. He is an excellent asset to Goodwill, and I wanted to ensure he was recognized.”
“While there used to be a Salvation Army where I live (Vernon, now closed forever), I know there are still other stores like these scattered all over CT.
I trekked to Hamden earlier this year and when I went here, they had some cool stuff.
I found a couple of good things that I liked. The clothing selection is decent, book selections are a little iffy. There's literally so much space that could be used to keep merchandise in these areas. Service is really good.
I think this Salvation Army is better than other ones I've been to.”
“As a nationwide member, I got to visit here rather than stay cooped up camping in tent during rainstorms. Im a swimmer, so TWO POOLS, was soooo nice-one just for laps. God bless America! The gym too. Worked out on a treadmill using ifit and enjoyed the southwest, Panama, Golden Gate park...dang, my YMCA pales in comparison. But membership truly has its perks! Thanks for the warm welcome. Oh and in the nice clean locker room there's a machine that extracts water from your swimsuit! Killer!”
