“I had a great time at MakeHaven's pen-making and intro to blacksmithing classes.
The instructors were great and very patient even when I got stuck at some steps.
In both classes, you almost immediately dive right into things. It's very hands-on and I much prefer that way of teaching over others.
I highly recommend their classes and you don't need a membership to go to them.
In case anyone else is wondering how to enter the building, you need to go to the entrance on Chapel St, then call the MakeHaven space using the little digital box outside and ask to be let in.”
“Chapel Haven enabled us to see how much independence (a lot) our son, Andy could achieve. They were never defensive when we challenged their assumptions, nor did they push back on our ideas. Just the opposite, they showed Andy (and us) how independent he could be: Living in a non affiliated apartment/condo, working at Home Depot, commuting back and forth including home completely independently. We no longer have to worry what happens to him if (hopefully) he outlives us.
He recently went with a group and climbed Mt Kilimanjaro without any staff from Chapel Haven nor us (his parents). That’s independence and his self worth has increased geometrically as well. None of this we could have dreamed of when Andy graduated from our high school.”
“I was told about how fab the food is here. It actually is and I have heard Isa is a great chef. His client speaks so well of his brisket and chicken Parm. I have the chicken Parm today. Again, I'll have the chicken Parm.”
“Participating in the Lifestyle Change program has given me the education, the resources, the accountability and support I need to reach my goals. Although I’m only halfway through the program, I am confident that the Monitor My Health approach will continue to inspire and motivate me to stick with it and achieve success! Dr. Wade and Kate also make it fun!”

“Excellent art school for adults and children in New Haven, offering classes in painting, pottery, printmaking, book arts, metal working, drawing, photography and more, at all levels of experience and skill. The teachers are excellent; they are predominately working artists who eagerly and compassionately share their experience and skills with beginning to advanced students. I highly recommend CAW.”
“My daughters just finished their first week ever at Schooner Camp. They loved it! Each time I picked them up they were super excited to tell me about their day. They made me promise to sign them up again next year. I got to meet one counselor and my husband met others during drop off. All were very professional, nice and enthusiastic. Great experience!”

“I became a LIT (leader in training) at 13 and overall, the outcome on myself emotionally and physically has improved. I learned how to catch the city bus, gained friendships, experienced new environments, gained leader ethics as well as time management etc. 10/10 would recommend.”
“The people there were wonderful and caring! I've never felt so welcomed.. And could not be more appreciative and blessed with them for being there to help those in need!”
“I had a water main valve leak and I contacted them about coming out to shut water off before the plumber came. A nice woman called us back to let us know we were insured for coverage for this valve. We were so appreciative, we almost paid $600 for the emergency plumber to come out.”
