“We had a wonderful experience adopting our newest family member from Animal Haven. We went to meet Gunner and knew right away we wanted to take him home with us.
Angelina brought him out to meet and play with us. She was super helpful and answered all our questions.
Ava handled our application. She was so kind and helpful. She communicated well with us during the whole process.
You can tell the staff and volunteers all care deeply about the animals and they all are well cared for.”
“Amazing. I’ve literally been trying to find the appropriate wording for days but my experience was just amazing. I honestly felt loved and chosen while i was there and I’m not religious. Thank you for being willing to truly help people in a way that would please God.”

“I got rejected by so many banks for a small business loan, but CEDF gave me what I needed. I really want to thank Michael Bianchi for being there every step of the way and helping me with all my questions and worries.”
“I enjoy going to the bread for life and eating lunch and speaking with everyone. But I also have to say that the staff there is so wonderful, and they have made me feel welcome and done so much for me, anytime I need someone to talk to or need something they're there to help me. And I just want to say they're all wonderful, and I appreciate each and every one of them and missy is wonderful. She is an unbelievable person, she has a heart of gold for each and every person in the world. God bless you all and thank you for all you've done for me. In my family”

“Thursday April 11 I came across this beautiful loving and well organized soup kitchen. Staff are very welcoming and full of compassion. All types of life were there, elderly, Young adults and children. Definitely a safe place and really good hot food- I ate twice lol?? Bread. Cakes. Hot meal. Some clothes is out at times to take if you need them. I wanted to respect everyone's privacy so I did not take pictures. Thank you Meriden soup kitchen for your amazing service to the community!??❤️?”
“my 5 and 7 year old boys loved taking pony rides here. Great introduction to the equestrian world. Hopefully we'll have more time to do more rides and eventually some lessons!”

“We brought our Cub scouts to learn more about what the farm does. They had the kids pick fresh vegetables for the soup kitchen and taught them about the horses while letting them brush them. The kids had a great time.”

“I adopted my dog from MHS two years ago and really appreciate their thorough process- yes it is more than some other shelters ask for, but they really put in the time and effort to try to find safe and caring forever homes for the animals in their care.
I had such a great experience it inspired me to start volunteering with the dog team, and seeing the love and care they give to every dog they take in is amazing. Especially with the current environment - limited resources and more surrenders than ever- the workmates stops and no animal is turned away if we have the ability to help them.”
“My husband spent time at Gaylord back in August of 2024 he absolutely loved it there !!! The staff was the best …probably one of the best hospitals he’d been in ..thank you for all you did for him ..unfortunately he passed away in January of 2025 ..thank you again for your kindness and care .”
“I had a quick and easy experience here adopting my kitten. They set up a meet and greet and had my kitten spayed and at home with me in less than a week! Mary and John were so friendly and able to answer all my questions. My kitten’s paperwork/medical records were sent right to my email after the adoption. Highly recommend!”
“I started donating in NJ because my husband and father in law were Veterans. Now in CT and still donating. Never have I had any problems with pickup. I try to schedule on days when it is sunny no rain in forecast.”
“I dropped off several bags of clothes, and Joe was a great help. He met us at the door and insisted on taking the bags from our car even though we tried taking them to the door for him. He is an excellent asset to Goodwill, and I wanted to ensure he was recognized.”
“My kinda place, laidback, cozy place that's low key. Not a loud obnoxious place like most. If you like a homestyle place to hang o it t and have a few drinks & grub...this is that place. See for yourself”
“This is a fantastic place, been going there for 15 years and it only gets better especially since I have been able to take my boys to the gym with me. Google review is not a place for disgruntled ex-employees to leave nasty messages--I have worked and interacted with the staff myself and everyone is kind and nurturing. If you were fired from the Y and you're not able to get along with folks there, that means you have something seriously wrong with you. I hope other employers look at these reviews and take it into consideration when you apply for another job. Be fair and don't be nasty!”
