“My wife had purchased a few inexpensive Oriental plant stands and they were on their last legs. I started looking for quality replacements on the Internet because I do not drive and it is difficult for me to get around. I found Oriental Furnishings and became intrigued. Their selection was amazing. However, most importantly was their reviews. Every one I read was favorable or better. (Yes they can be better than just 5 stars) I decided on 2 rosewood plant stands and a rosewood coffee table but I wasn't sure if the colors matched. So I called their phone number and spoke to Bill. (who I later discovered that he was an owner) He couldn't have been nicer. He listened to my needs and put me on hold to check if the colors matched and if they were still in stock. Within minutes he returned with "yes" to both questions. I had asked if it was possible to have the items delivered into my home since I am 69 years old and disabled. He said he would arrange it but it might take 2 weeks. I said fine and I was very satisfied. He called me the following week and said they could be delivered in 2 days, a Friday. That was fine with me. At approximately 11:00 am an SUV drove up to my home. It was my furniture. The gentleman knocked on my door and asked if I was expecting a delivery. I said yes and he started to bring them. I told him that Bill, who I spoke to on the phone, was a really nice guy and extremely helpful. He then introduced himself as Bill. He told me his driver didn't show up today so he drove from Connecticut to Long Island to deliver my furniture. Without me asking, he unpacked and checked everything to make sure they were ok. He even removed the packing material. I have to say, they were beautiful. The colors were perfect and I couldn't be happier. In this day and age it is very rare that you find someone that is so considerate and caring of others. My entire dealings with Oriental Furnishings was fantastic and I highly recommend that you look there for you Oriental furniture and decorating needs. You will not be sorry. If you remember, in the beginning of my review, I said a company could be better than 5 stars. Now you understand why. Bill was absolutely fantastic to work with and when it's times to purchase more furnishings, I will only use Oriental Furnishings!??????????”

“I needed a rug repair and cleaning for my Bokhara vintage classic rug due to damage from moths that got to eating it up in storage. I had the best experience working with Heather in the rug store who was very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. She had the repair guy come within 48 hours of my store visit and the repair and cleaning was done in a week. I was amazed with the final repair and it looks brand new. Highly recommend if you have a rug needing repair go see Heather.”

“An amazing glassware store. All items here are made of the highest quality and craftsmanship. We love all of their works. Their glassmaking facility is in Vermont, all items come directly from those glassmakers. These items are all high quality pieces. We have purchased several items and are very pleased. Today they were supporting a local non-profit organization by donating 15% of their sales. Great work and community conscience; a great combination.”

“Late in reporting, but I am inspired as I'm disappointed the same account executive is no longer at DWR. By chance I encountered Renai Lewis-Brochard in April 2020 when I made the decision to purchase two Carl Hansen Wishbone chairs for my home during Covid home lockdown. Living in Hawaii where there is no DWR studio I shopped on line and opened an online chat with Renai. She was a delight to work. She addressed all my concerns, sent me some computer rendering of what the chairs would look like in my home, sent me the samples I requested, and followed through until after delivery. This year's online sale isn't going as well. DWR doesn't have samples for items in their sale catalogue or offered online and there's no idea when they might be available.”

“Truly an amazing collection of antiques and vintage items. There are several dealers at this design center; while each has their own unique style - including which design period(s) they focus on collecting and presenting - and way of decorating their space, it all comes together to create a beautifully-curated, design-lovers' paradise. Whether you're looking for a statement piece of furniture, the perfect objet d'art, or a new (vintage) piece of art to grace your walls - Avery & Dash is a great place to explore. There is a good mix of prices but definitely what is expected for the quality of pieces presented (please understand, these are authentic vintage and antique pieces in fantastic condition and therefore are priced as collectors' items or investment pieces). Also, the design center staff was very helpful - they greeted us when we went in, allowed us to browse around without hovering, and offered info when I found some things I was interested in (they were very accessible had I needed them sooner). They were the perfect mix of helpful and accessible - without being pushy - and friendly when we started talking. Just go - stroll around, see beautiful things, and even if the prices are outside the budget, inspiration abounds here! I found 3 or 4 mid-century modern buffets/credenzas and 2 dining sets I wanted to take home. If you're there to take it all in, give yourself at least an hour or two - there really is a lot to see. And last but not least - there is a decent amount of parking right near the store.”

“If you have furniture that is dear and precious Good Goods in Darien is the place to take it. They understand heirloom furniture and don't replace horse hair and down with synthetics (unless that is what you want). This staff is knowledgeable, patient and helpful. They have transformed my living room. What was once my great grandmother's tattered camelback couch has been covered with a clean inviting linen and pillows made from an old antique rug. A pop of color in an English velvet bought new cozy- down- filled life to my grandmother's wing chair. And the parlor chair no one wanted is nothing short of a showpiece having used a pattern that was meticulously matched and beautifully finished. There has not been one thing they have done for me that has not exceeded my great expectations. I expected good what I got was nothing short of great!”
