The place is very clean and I appreciate the organization, communication and overall vibe. It's been easy to communicate in between visits through messages, which has been wonderfully helpful for questions pictures and documents. My rescue dog is not easy and they have been patient and strategic as to how to best take care of this dog that does not want to be examined! Highly recommend.”

“We travel 40 minutes each way to get here with our senior dog because they are simply the best. Prices are reasonable and we never feel like we're being asked to spend money on anything unnecessary, and our dog is always treated like family when we arrive. He absolutely loves going to the vet at Niantic Animal Hospital (I mean, not the poking and prodding that has to happen sometimes, but everything else he loves). :)

“I was recommended to come to this clinic by a friend. This was my wife and I’s first time at a vet’s office so we didn’t really know what to expect. My friend was absolutely right in saying that Dr. Slater was very kind, patient and thorough. Everyone else in the office was also very pleasant to interact with. The office also runs very efficiently. Our puppy needed some fecal and urine tests and we got the results back the next day. I would highly recommend anyone here for any vet care needs.”

“Great staff! Attentive, friendly, accomodsting, always remember who I am & more. This is a modern veterinary practice with a small town feeling. They know & greet my dog &/or cats as well as me with smiles/concern appropriate to the situation and make me feel they are happy to see us even if things aren't great. Every time I'm there, I see all the pet patients (and their humans) treated like this. They are knowledgeable abouut the veterinary field. They listen carefully and are often able to guide me . I like that the "front office staff" aren't only receptionists, but knowledgeable about the veterinary field and know what questions to ask to make sure the appropriate time is scheduled & thst the doctor has the best information possible before seeing us. They are great at easing fears, boosting spirits, consoling patient & owner and more.I'm always impressed that when the doctors or technicians walk into the exam room, they give me a quick hello, then immediately focus on whomever I'm bringing in that day. They take the time necessary to be sure they have a good amount of time for observation & hands on time as well as listening carefully to my concerns and the information I give them is respected. The facility is always neat & clean and privacy is respected. I have used Salem Valley Veterinary since they opened, and despite the expected staff changes over time (20 or so years worth) the quality of services is still excellent. I highly recommend them and hope that you will take the time to develop a solid relationship with the staff as it only helps us both to give our precious companions the best life we can.”

“We love the Waterford Animal Hospital. Mollie had surgery today and we were very pleased with the care she received.

Our cat, May May, perfectly healthy and active, declined precipitously in the course of less then a month. Waterford Animal Hospital no doubt inconvenienced themselves to get her in, to run the diagnostics, and spend the time showing us the tumor that grew like wildfire off her liver. Dr. A compassionately and professionally explained what was wrong, what options were, and helped us make what was really the only decision we could humanely make for our beloved pet.

He asked if we wished to be present when she was euthanized. She was still asleep from the xrays and he gave us as much time to say our goodbyes as we needed before and after she died. The entire staff was compassionate, kind, and accommodating in our time of grief.

It's easy to like your vet when it's something simple. When you like them when you have to negotiate the best path for your pet when it's serious? That's saying something.
