“Alex is my go to followed by Dave. Trusted local small shop mechanics who specialize in foreign cars. Although I still take my 4Runner to the dealer for big things, everything else I go to these guys. Especially when I source my own parts, such as brakes, calipers, rotors, most recently a rear hatch actuator lock replacement, etc. No problem for them.
I’ve had a couple of bad experiences in other small shops around town here, particularly one shop on Main Street in Stafford Springs. Not with these guys. I have recommended Peoples Auto to friends and coworkers in (and out of) the area as well. No bull shit assessments, fair prices and good work.
I trust them with my cars and that’s (simply) what you need from your local mechanic shop, trust.
Would recommend to anybody.”
“They were there to pick my vehicle up within 10 minutes (they assumed it would be 20). The gentleman that assisted with the tow was excellent. Despite oil being all over under my truck, he hopped under there to release the parking mechanism getting himself dirty in the process without hesitation.

Although I haven’t purchased a vehicle yet, the experience I’ve had with Scott at Mill Street Auto has been so outstanding that it deserves a review on its own. From our first phone call to the in-person visit and test drive, Scott showed a level of honesty, respect, and genuine customer care that is incredibly rare in today’s used-car market.
From the start, Scott was accommodating and flexible with my difficult schedule—something I deeply appreciated while managing a family member’s health issues. He never used any high-pressure tactics or the typical “used car salesman” approach. Instead, he was patient, straightforward, and willing to work around my needs.
When I arrived at the dealership, I was pleasantly surprised to see him chatting with people from the neighborhood like old friends. He immediately introduced me, treated everyone respectfully, and then politely shifted his attention to me since I had traveled quite a distance. It spoke volumes about his character and the trust he has built within the community.
One of the most impressive parts of the experience was the test drive. As a fellow veteran, I appreciated his directness and integrity—he encouraged me to take an extended drive under different road conditions, not just a quick loop like most dealers do. He wanted me to be completely comfortable and confident in the vehicle, and that level of transparency is almost unheard of.
When we came across a small issue neither of us was familiar with, Scott had the shop mechanic check it out and got back to me within an hour with answers and a solution. That kind of prompt, honest communication is rare in any business today, let alone used car sales.
I also witnessed him speak with a previous customer who brought his son in to look at a car. Even though the car they wanted had sold the day before, Scott was honest, apologetic, and genuinely interested in helping them find the right fit—even if it wasn’t something currently on the lot. It’s clear that people come back because of how they’re treated.
Overall, Scott and Mill Street Auto have shown professionalism, integrity, and a level of customer care that stands out in every way. I’m still in the process of finding the right car, but I can confidently say that this is a dealership—and a salesperson—I trust.

“The speed and efficiency of the team there was fabulous. The Truck i rented was a bit older but, worked perfectly for the belongings we needed to move.
The window glass could use a cleaning.
The process of the pre-check in could have been explained in the reservation process a bit better to help save time during the pick up. Perhaps I missed the information in my haste.
Everything else was great and always is.
Olivia handled everything like a pro and was a fraction of a second ahead of me during check in, to help keep things moving along well for me, for her and the team, and the customers on line behind me.
