John and his fellow master mechanics spent a good amount of time troubleshooting and found a "very unusual" blown fuse, which they replaced and then road tested. “I have never had such an amazing experience at a mechanic. Freddy offers a reasonable price with excellent service. My car unexpectedly broke down and he was able to fix it right away for me. His diagnosis includes a full problem list of things found wrong with the vehicle, and Jennifer was kind enough to patiently explain things I didn't understand to me. I told the shop there were parts of the car I was looking to work on myself, which they completely understood and were happy to do the projects I needed. “I've had so many bad experiences with car mechanics over the years that I have come to just expect it, mostly in the form of blatant overcharging for work, recommending unneeded repairs (hello, brakes that somehow need to be replaced every year!), and sometimes just outright shoddy work. I'd become convinced that this is just the normal state of things, part of the game when owning a car. They overcharge you, you push back and work out a price that's still too high but whatever. They try selling you unneeded work, you decline, they push, you decline again, they come up with other unneeded services, you decline. Etc., etc., ad nauseum. So I've been more than a bit shocked at my experiences at Doerr's. No drama, no overcharging, no constant overselling of services, nothing. Just quiet, competent work for a fair price. You drop off the car and ask him to do an oil change? He'll do the oil change and charge you a nominal price, not 3x the going rate with an added note that you need to change your brand-new brakes because they're "wearing thin". You drop off the car for a New York inspection? He sees you need new wipers, calls to tell you so, charges you $18 per wiper - not $80 - and your car is ready for pickup. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, but, to my perpetual amazement, it never does. It's my highest compliment, one I feel uneasy giving given how many times I've been let down by other mechanics, but- this guy is honest. He and his shop are a diamond in the rough.”

They assigned a tow to me who after one text went crickets, as in no show. Kind of a bummer when you believe they are going to show and simply don't. Not Armonk garage. They were parking as I arrived. In no time car was secured on flatbed and off! Your driver was great and I will remember AAA and Armonk Garage in the future as needs arise!”

“Honest, reliable, quick - we could not have had a better experience! These guys are the best. We brought our 10 year old Subaru Forester into the Subaru Stamford dealership for a rattling noise and we were quoted 11K to repair a "mechanical failure" with the engine. Thank god we brought it to Red's for a second opinion. Joe Jr. squeezed us in to be seen right away and upon arriving did a quick check of our engine oil to discover that there was literally no oil. Can you believe this is how Subaru Stamford returned our car to us?! Especially after we paid them $700 for a synthetic oil change/tune up less than four months prior... Upon further inspection, Red's determined that aside from not having oil it in the engine was running fine. When we picked our car up - Joe Sr. took the time to show us how to check the oil and top it off ourselves. Everyone from Joe Sr., Joe Jr., to Benito at the front desk was awesome, helpful, professional and knowledgeable. We will absolutely be returning with all of our automotive needs.”
