I was falsely accused by a manager of letting my dog urinate in the store( yes they let dogs in the store) —completely unprofessional and embarrassing. I’ve already filed a report with corporate but wanted others to be aware of how customers are treated at this location. I’ve been going here since they opened and NEVER had a problem. When asked to see the tapes, the manager said she not obligated to show the tapes. I’m 100% sure my dog did not pee in the store.

Worth a drive to the Wallingford location to avoid miserable, rude staff plus their produce selection is generally not as good as other locations.

It’s German grocery store where you can buy organic produce mostly from Europe and Canada. A must if you want to buy organic stuff at reasonable price. They keep only limited but essential items.

Fair price. You can find some good quality products imported from Canada. Good place to buy snacks after trader joe's.

Prices are good but they always have long lines and only 1 or 2 registers open.

So today I went in to get a little grabber device which had been advertised
When I overheard the joke of a manager K** yelling at elderly customers because they were getting the berries etc from the POORLY cool controlled refrigerated display. So POORLY cool controlled that they have flimsy pull down covers which pop up almost hitting customers in the face.
First off would not recommend because if that is their solution to maintain temperature well it is obvious their cheap method is inefficient to say the least.
Secondly, being in the presence of K** the chosen leadership is such a miserable experience. She is like a wild animal yelling at elderly people who are trying to get food has no concept of appropriate behavior especially in a leadership role. I told her she is rude and needs to stop yelling at these people then I tried to explain those just pop up uncontrollably but she cut me off and her solution was to tell me “if I don’t like it I can shop somewhere else”. Wow so if I don’t like the yelling at elderly I can shop somewhere else. Ok message received! I will! …..I said shoppers are who keep you employed. She then began to tape off the refrigerator section while trying to continue to follow me around acting like a weirdo. I asked the cashier who K** is and very much to my surprise the supervisor. I tried to obtain a phone number for management and she refused to provide it.
Statements included
“what do you not see the signs read the signs” not only is this nasty but she is assuming every customer can read or speak English (not into diversity and inclusion)
“What you can’t figure out the signs do you want me to grab the food for you” this was not said in a generous way rather a very condescending inappropriate way.
“We have signs up look through the pull down stop opening it can’t you read?” If she took the time to listen to this older gentleman she would have learned that when he went to grab the cucumber the pulldown went up aggressively almost hitting his face but she is too incompetent and crass to utilize any thinking ability to understand things. She runs the show and I definitely don’t plan to come back to see more of her show.
I watched her yell at three elders 2 women and 1 man.
Definitely shopping somewhere else 100% K** ! Because I certainly would like to avoid someone like you!
Also, it begs the question if the food is actually safe by the standards they are keeping in this store because by the looks of it they aren’t able to Maintain keeping the large pull downs actually down. Probably the health department should investigate this.
I also saw the pull downs almost hit 2 customers in the face when they went up so again is this actually a good way of managing the cooling? Or will a customer get hit in the eye? They probably have store cameras maybe they can look at how ridiculous these pull downs are.
Treat your customers with dignity and do not yell at them especially elders who are trying to shop and having additional difficulty because of a poorly designed refrigeration system. 👎👎👎👎👎
If this is the manager for the shift Aldi Hamden is truly a joke I seriously have to question all their store practices based solely on their hiring practices of leadership.
Again I went for a product but ended up having to encounter disrespect of elders and obscene behavior.

After a long day of work I rushed to ALDIs to buy chicken I needed for dinner. I was so relieved when I made it before closing but was surprised the doors were locked. Confused I made eye contact with an extremely aggressive older man in his 50s or 60s who immediately started yelling at me to leave. I asked why I had to leave they weren’t even closed yet but he continued to scream at me to leave and get out. I literally begged him to let me buy just my one ingredient but he just became more hostile. I never once raised my voice and tried to politely ask him to have a civil conversation but he just yelled over me telling me to get out. I’ve never experienced this level of unprofessional and childish behavior anywhere let alone a grocery store. If this is how paying customers are treated during open hours I cant imagine how those employees are treated by this man. This type of behavior coming from a grown adult towards a young woman begging to buy one thing quickly during business hours is frankly pathetic and embarrassing for both this man and the company.

I have never had a bad experience at any other Aldi store, however, today both women at the register at around 10:30 am were extremely rude. I have never experienced this and was taken a back. Maybe it was just a bad day but considering the lines weren’t long it was quite shocking to be talked to so rudely in an establishment that is otherwise so welcoming.

I love their prices. You really cannot beat them. They do have a pretty solid selection too. Must be willing to be a bit flexible though. They are often out of certain items, don't continuously carry the same stuff, so be ready to make substitutions or drop by a second store to fill in a couple of missing things. We're happy to do that, the price is worth it for us. This store is kept clean and well organized despite being ravaged by people constantly. There are always people out stocking and working. Our family has been coming here for 7 years now.

My daughter likes Aldi's mini chocolate donuts. They are so fragrant, soft and full of egg flavor.

I went to Aldi to get some fresh fruits and veggies. I could barely find anything that wasn’t old and mushy or looked like it’s gonna go bad in 2 days. Not sure if this was related to me going on a Sunday… still I left very disappointed and decided to go somewhere else to do my weekend shopping.

There only one register open most of the time when it's full so you do waste a lot of time in line and some employees are rude
