“I had the best experience with my oil change! I hate getting oil changes, always feel like they are up charging me and talking down on me bc I’m a girl and don’t know what’s going on, but I had the sweetest two guys helping me the other day! Forgive my descriptions I forgot their names but one was a white male with piercings and the other was a younger black male. They explained everything they were doing and checking, let me ask all the questions I had, and were so patient with me!!! They deserve a raise :))) highly recommend”
“Absolutely great service from the guys at SAF-T. I have been looking for a reliable automotive repair shop in Wallingford since moving up here. I was previously told by the Honda dealership that I had cracked lower control arm bushings. I brought it to SAF-T, along with some other squealing noises that I have been hearing. They did an in-depth inspection and let me know that there was no issues with the bushings at all. The did however find a valve cover leak. Absolutely great communication and had my car turned around the same day. There is a reason why this place has almost 500 5 star reviews. I won’t take my cars anyplace else from now on. They have won me over with fair pricing, honesty, and communication.”

I brought in my 2003 Nissan Frontier after weeks of trying to chase down a check engine light issue myself. I had already replaced the O2 sensors, cleaned the MAF, and checked wiring — but the light kept coming back.
Jay at Howie’s Electric quickly diagnosed a bad ground and a faulty catalytic converter, both of which were causing the sensor readings to throw codes. He explained everything clearly, fixed the ground issue properly, and replaced the cat. After that, the truck ran perfectly and passed emissions with no problem.
Jay is a total professional — sharp, honest, and super thorough. The whole shop runs smoothly, and you can tell they actually care about fixing the problem right.
If you're dealing with any electrical issues or check engine light nightmares, ask for Jay — he’s the guy you want. Huge thanks to Howie’s Electric!”

“I had an unexpected emergency today, I was a bit frantic trying to figure out my options as I had a flat tire with a broken air valve. I called probably 3 times with 3 different questions and Ken was immensely kind and helpful on each call. I was able to bring the tire to them and it was fixed within the hour! Didn’t waste my time or run my pockets. Staff was courteous & had great energy, I will certainly be back for any auto body shop needs.”
“They are above and beyond the best mechanics, the only downside is that there's not much room for that many cars so there is a bit of a wait for you to drop off your car. There's no attempt to fix things that aren't broken, or upsale you as I've experienced at other mechanics and dealer service departments. They are fair in their dealings and are professional & friendly in every interaction I have had with them. Plus occasionally there's a chill dog that hangs out there and you can pet it, the dog is not there every day.
As long as you can deal with waiting for a couple of days, it's the best mechanic in New Haven.”

Knowledgeable & experienced, skillful problem solver, kind & simpático and, above all, he is honest & fair to boot! - He does not try to rip you off, or sell you things you don't need, but will work with you to keep you rolling within your means. - Of course, he can also do an insane tune-up if you so wish. - He does an awesome job, every time. - Be it exchanging your flat tire for a gently used one right on the spot, installing a new part which he gets for you or you purchased on your own, or working creative magic to help you out in a pinch, - like fixing a broken exhaust pipe by welding in a piece of random pipe...which is gonna outlast the rest of the muffler that has been put in new, before... - he is the one you'll want to take your car to! - A saving grace and a blessing to have around!”
