A beautiful house of a best American writer (in my opinion).To walk inside the house, you need to buy a ticket and book a tour (included).It’s better to do it in advance because the place is popular and there are a lot of tourist’s buses.The house is very interesting, definitely recommend to visit.Photos inside are... read full comment

Attended the general tour at the end of December whilst all of the decor was still up. The house was truly a work of art and the guide Danielle M was a pleasure. She answered many questions from the group and was comical throughout the tour. Highly recommend any who are interested or even have a free moment to get a tour... read full comment
The Hartford home of Samuel Clemens, AKA Mark Twain, one of America's greatest writers and social critics. Twain lived in this house from 1871-1894, and wrote some of his best-known works here, including The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, The Prince and the Pauper, Life on the Mississippi, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, A Tramp Abroad, and A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court.
Tours of the house are available daily beginning at 10:30 am; the last tour of the day begins at 3:30 pm. We also host numerous programs and events throughout the year, including some of the country's best-known authors and lecturers.
