From The Mark Twain House & Museum

The Hartford home of Samuel Clemens, AKA Mark Twain, one of America's greatest writers and social critics. Twain lived in this house from 1871-1894, and wrote some of his best-known works here, including The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, The Prince and the Pauper, Life on the Mississippi, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, A Tramp Abroad, and A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court. Tours of the house are available daily beginning at 10:30 am; the last tour of the day begins at 3:30 pm. We also host numerous programs and events throughout the year, including some of the country's best-known authors and lecturers.
