It is a nice place to come hiking. The only downside is that you would find a lot of ticks. Be careful when hiking with your pets. My dog got bitten multiple times by ticks. Otherwise the hiking experience would be four stars without the ticks.

Wonderful hike with the view of waterfall. I follow the red trail which is quite easy. Several view points. Spectacularly beautiful during fall. Picnic area available.Plenty parking but out of CT state car needs to pay for parking fee.Waterfall could be icy in winter.

Near peak foliage in Kent state park in 2nd half of October on weekday. Ample parking close to actual falls. Stairs are leading up almost to the top of falls, there are nice observation decks along the way, hence no objection to out-of-state fees for parking. I’ve made a loop returning back to the parking lot via red trail from Dugan road. It is a jewel in CT state park system.

Beautiful! I’ve been to the falls with a 6-year-old & an 80-year-old. The stairs/rocks can get a little slippery after wet weather, but it’s very manageable - mostly stairs & railings everywhere.Dog-friendliness: Lots of dogs there & our dog recurved lots of pets!Picnic area: Tables & BBQ pits

A wonderful area, easy access to to the lower section of falls even handicap accessible for the lower falls. ( although during busy times this also means it gets crowded) walking bg the stairs / path to the upper section of falls brings great views of the falls with viewing platforms. Note these upper sections though there are stairs / trails to follow the climb is moderate and on the stairs the treads are higher than standard stairs which may make it too difficult for elderly or those with restricted movement. The park also offers a field with picnic tables and a couple of other trails. Note for those looking for a long hike all of the trails are fairly short maybe around a mile more or less round trip.Dumpsters and port-o-potties are available in the parking area.

Beautiful waterfalls and short hikes mostly in stairs. Entry is free for Connecticut residents. There is a $10 fee for out of state cars for day use, which can be paid through a website. The falls can be seen in a distance from parking itself. The entry is through a nice-looking covered bridge. There are tables where you can do a small picnic. The hike to the top of the falls is short and mostly steps. It's a different view of the falls up the top. So don't miss it.

Visiting Kent Falls State Park has long been on my list of places to visit in CT. It has plenty of free parking (for in state visitors) and as you walk under the covered bridge into the park, you are almost immediately met by the spectacular waterfalls. The trail up the falls is an easy hike with various look out points to get some beautiful pictures. I went in late September, after a rainstorm so crowds were nonexistent, and the waterfall was rapidly flowing. It was a peaceful place to visit especially hearing the sounds of the falls throughout the hike. There are lots of great farms, breweries, wineries, and other hiking trails near here, so it makes for a great stop while checking out the area!

It an awesome place . But they change it. Added stairs. Buried the bottom part of falls, not allow into the water. There restrooms, picnic tables, to relax or hike, no playgrounds. It being in nature. Dogs must be on a least

I will tell you this park is amazing. The waterfall is absolutely gorgeous. You can hike up to the top of the waterfall through a trail they have going through the woods. They have picnic tables and barbecues. They have public port a pottys, which I'm never fond of those, but the day I went They were unbelievably clean.
