My daughter started at this daycare when she was 2 years old. In the beginning it wasn’t easy for her, but thanks to the wonderful teachers — especially Ms. Cherie — she quickly began to feel safe and happy. Now she absolutely loves her teacher!

My daughter is bilingual, and it’s amazing to see how much progress she has made in just three months — how much she has learned and how confidently she communicates.

What I appreciate the most is Ms. Cherie’s incredible dedication and hard work. She is truly an angel. Every day the children have great activities, and we receive detailed daily reports, which I love. There is also a live camera, so I always feel connected and confident that my daughter is in good hands.

I also want to mention that the owner is a very kind and warm person, always helpful and welcoming, which makes the daycare feel even more special.

“This review is long overdue.

Our daughter was two years old when she began attending Stepaway preschool. She has developmental delays and was completely nonverbal at the time, able to communicate only through sign language (and many of her signs were ineligible only to us, her parents). This made it challenging for her at first, in terms of interacting with her peers and teachers.

But the warm and wonderful staff at Stepaway welcomed her with open arms, and she loved it immediatately.

She made friends and learned how to play, how to clean up, and how to be a kind and honorable person. We were very sad to take her out after only six months. We did so only because she had turned 3 and became eligible to attend public preschool in our town, with structured speech, physical and occupational therapy to help her navigate her motor delays.

That was almost a year ago. I think of it now as I watch her play with strangers at Stepping Stones Museum in Norwalk. I reflect on how far our wonderful child has come and reminisce about where it all began. We fondly remember and still miss her teachers, Hannah, and all the little friends she met at Stepaway preschool!”

“Original Review 2025: Our experience at KinderCare has been nothing short of exceptional. From the director to the teachers and teaching assistants, everyone is absolutely wonderful—warm, attentive, and deeply committed to the children. My daughter looks forward to going every day, and some of her favorite teaching assistants include Miss Kaelyn, Miss Jade, Miss Shey, Miss Gigi, Miss Seriana, and Miss Alex, who each bring their own kindness and energy to the classroom.

That said, I want to give special recognition to my daughter’s teacher, Ms. Dee, who has truly become one of the most important figures in my daughter’s early development. Ms. Dee is everything a parent could hope for in a preschool teacher—loving, kind, deeply personal, and incredibly attentive. She creates a classroom filled with affection and joy, where children feel safe, seen, and genuinely cared for. My daughter often tells us how much she loves Ms. Dee, and as a parent, there’s nothing more reassuring than knowing your child feels that secure and cherished.

Ms. Dee also brings such creativity and passion to her teaching. She owns a small farm and thoughtfully incorporates elements of that into her curriculum, making every lesson dynamic and hands-on. From learning about animals to planting seeds and exploring nature, my daughter has developed a love for the world around her—while also mastering her shapes, colors, letters, and more, all thanks to Ms. Dee’s guidance.

She consistently goes above and beyond, not only in how she teaches but in how she connects with each child personally. The special attention and affection she gives to my daughter have made a lasting impact on her confidence, curiosity, and happiness.

We are endlessly grateful to Ms. Dee and the entire KinderCare team for creating such a loving and enriching environment for our daughter.

Update 2026: When we moved our daughter to KinderCare at 18 months old, Miss Ashley was her very first teacher, and she made all the difference in our transition. She is soft spoken, incredibly kind, and so loving, and she immediately made our daughter and our family feel comfortable in a new environment. We especially appreciated how she incorporated Spanish into her daily lessons, including singing, which made learning engaging and fun. Seeing how much time the children spent outdoors in the fresh air enjoying the wonderful outdoor space reassured us that we had made the right decision.

Most recently, our daughter was in Miss Yizmel “Mel” and Miss Aida’s classroom, and we are so thankful for the care they gave her. When she joined their class at just two years old, I was struggling with potty training, and within just a few short weeks they had her fully trained and confidently out of pull ups. They are incredibly loving, built such a strong bond with her, and made our family feel completely at ease each day knowing she was in their care. They even taught her new Spanish words, including counting to ten, and in just six months we saw tremendous growth in her language and overall development. We are so grateful for everything they have done, and they are truly an asset to the school.”
